We went on a Friday night so we could see the fireworks (which were great) and to celebrate my friends 40th. We couldn't of been more disappointed with the food and experience.
The menu is big and offers a lot of choice with no stand out signature dishes.
- Matcha Pork Bau Buns. The nicest dish we had. Warm and light for pork belly. If only they'd used local rather than Aussie pork.
- Beef cheek croquettes and Kimchi.
Arrived cold and solid. The mayonnaise had no kimchi taste to cut through the stodge.
- Ahi Rillette. So dry we couldn't eat it. Was like they'd up turned a can of fish onto a plate.
We complained and got no response from staff. We then ordered our entree. Given the hit and miss nature of the appetisers we decided to play it safe with the steak, which we asked to be medium rare, and cauliflower gratin. The steak arrived overcooked and cold! The gratin was cold and not grilled, just lumps of cold cream cheese over soggy cauliflower. Again we mentioned this to wait staff. No response. Along with some drinks mistakes we were pretty shocked by the size of the bill given the quality of food. The sushi menu may be better. If so I'd recommend just sticking to that. We would not recommend instead watch the fireworks from the pool bar and save yourself money and disappointment.
