Owner description: In front of the Aliiolani Hale building is the King Kamehameha I Statue. Facing Iolani Palace on the corner of King and Mililani streets, this landmark depiction of the warrior king who united the Hawaiian Islands emits a sense of strength and unity as he stands with outstretched arms.

Simplicity done right in a statue honouring one of their great kings. Love the style and the location. Very clean around this area too ^^

I would recommend stopping here early in the morning on the weekend, if possible. Parking can be hard to find. The statue is right across the street from Iolani Palace. Metered street parking is the closest parking to both sites so bring change.

He is easy to find and a very important person for the history of the Hawaiian Islands. Most of the hop on hop off bus routes will take you past or near him. You cannot get too close to him as he is surrounded by a neatly kept hedge, but you have to go and say hello to him to feel you have been to Oahu !! Sadly Jack McGarrett or Danno were not there at the same time !

I felt like I knew all about this since watching Hawaii Five O...was very glad to get a chance to stop on our tour of downtown and take pictures, and of course to experience a famous Nathan's Hot Dog.
