Surprised that I never dined here before, but had to satisfy a pasta craving. Located in an office building away from the crowds, this little restaurant with its glorious painted walls and ceiling transplants you from tropical Hawai'i to little Roma the moment you step inside. Not crowded for a weeknight, it was nice not to wait for a table. The appetizers of mussels and carpaccio were ok, I've had better. The pasta was heavy on the sauces, but the seasoning and spices were very good. Enjoyed the wild boar sausage. Service was fine. I'll be back.

Service is the best thing here, only slighter better than the food. Food is very good, with a wide range of pastas/ seafood/desserts to choose from. Also, corkage fee is very reasonable ($15/bottle). Our waiter was one of the best in any restaurant that I have visited. Makes you feel welcome, helpful with the menu choices, very personable., serviced table promptly without being asked. Parking in the FIB building is available, ask for validation (small fee after validation)

We like to dine at Cafe Sistina because they have good food, reasonable prices (though veal prices have increased considerably), and is located in a non-touristy area with parking. The decor is unique with floor-to-ceiling Renaissance murals painted by the former owner.

Dishes tried on this visit were veal piccata ($27.75), chicken piccata ($17.75), and linguine aglio e olio ($14.75). The veal piccata was tender, and the butter lemon wine sauce with capers was very tasty. The chicken piccata was equally good. The linguine was perfectly cooked and had a nice kick to it. However, one of our friends ordered either the chicken Parmesan or veal Parmesan. He said his dish was flavorful, but the meat was kind of tough. Despite that, we will continue to dine at Cafe Sistina.

Up close and personal with the Sistine Chapel paintings, once you adjust to that you will have a very nice meal. A family friendly place for sure. Servers happy and helpful, food served in generous portions, but true to the Italian roots of the owner
