Lovely location and friendly staff. Well worth the money to get ocean views. Has an amazing restaurant on the beach level. Plenty of parking available as well as valet. I was lucky and able to find a room last minute with out reservations but it was in February.

Room Tip: get ocean view with balcony. It's worth the money.

I really like this hotel! I stumbled on the hotel at the last minute & Im glad I took a risk. It's about a mile away from all the action in downtown Waikiki-and that's a good thing. I'm a big "walker", so my morning walk to downtown took about 15 minutes. Your on a great beach of your own that is never crowded. When you go to bed at night it is completely quiet! It's not opulent or fancy, but more than adequate. All the staff were very friendly & professional. I paid 70.00 more a night when I got there (over my hotels.com) for an ocean view room & it was great. The 15 minute walk to downtown is though an interesting park that is quite a pleasant stroll. I would highly recommend this place.

this hotel is wonderful. I can't figure out why its not higher rated. Our room was clean, and they upgraded us for free to the oceanfront deluxe room, which was spectacular.
We had wonderful views of the ocean, could hear the waves crashing onto shore, could walk right down to swim in the ocean, and the restaurant is basically on the sand with trees for shade. The best is its not in downtown crazy Waikiki, but its about a 7 minute walk to it. There is a lovely park across the street and you can stroll up to Waikiki so easy. Don't need a car here and its expensive to park it here. I'd stay here again for sure but without a car next time. The food in the restaurants was good, nothing to write home about, but good and the view, well, you can't ask for better. The hotel was super clean and the bar downstairs facing the ocean was good. The concierge was super nice, and overall, I'd give this 5 stars. The winds blowing through the hotel lobby is so nice.

Room Tip: go for the ocean front room and fall asleep to the sound of the ocean

I just came back from Hawaii and was lucky enough to stay at this hotel when we arrived and then again before returning home; we went to Maui in between.
This hotel is beautiful and has amazing room views that are worth the extra couple of bucks. The hotel is situated at the end of Waikiki beach which if you like a little more quiet, is definitely a plus. It is also in front of Diamond head which means you have two amazing views (volcano and beach). The rooms are very nice and spacious.
This is also a pretty affordable hotel considering it's on the beach.
There's a little walking (10 minute walk) distance to the main part of Waikiki but nothing crazy.

The staff is great. They upgraded us to the corner ocean/diamond head view room which had a wrap around balcony for no extra charge. The view was insane!!!

I would definitely recommend staying here to all!

Room Tip: Oceanfront view is a must if you can!!! Well worth the few extra dollars they charge. The sunrise &a...

The reason we chose this hotel was because of its location and beach. The crazy scene that is Wakiki was not what we were looking for in a place to lay our weary heads. New Otani had good food and cocktails. They were generous with their beach towels. The small connivence store on the premises was a good place to pop into for snacks and beer.
