My review is not so much on the hotel but the beach staff themselves. I cannot describe how wonderful they are. this was my second stay at the hotel in 13 months, and i would return, just because of them . if you are like me, you spend most of your time by the pool or beach, so these are the people you interact with most!
They went above and beyond their scope of work to make me feel comfortable, as they knew i was alone for the first half of my trip. They gave me a wonderful surprise on my birthday, which brought me to tears - i would not in a million years have expected hotel staff to surprise me with gifts!! conversation was great, every day - not only with me, but with all the guests that took a few minutes to engage in conversation with them. they all had a great sense of humour and had restaurant and donut ( yes, donut ) recommendations on a daily basis! They really did make my vacation memorable, in the most positive way!

I cannot wait to retire - my new post retirement dream job is to work at the Towel station at Moana with them! Amazing staff

Michael, one of the hotel managers was also very helpful and a pleasure to deal with, as were the Bell staff and my house keeping room attendant Penny! she had a very pleasant personality and was always smiling!

they have some great employees there

Room Tip: rooms in the central hotel tower are in need of some renovating. rooms in the other towers were renovated probably 10 years ago?

Dinner on the terrace was spectacular, the food was faultless and the service excellent.
The Moana is lovely hotel to visit even if it's just to pop in for a drink either on terrace or down at the beach bar.

Nice holiday in Hawai'i. First went to Maui then spent last 5 days in Waikiki. Moana surfrider has a great location. On the beach one side and the main street the other side. Real nice colonial feel to the hotel. Great restaurant and bar garden backing on to the beach with a magical "avatar Pandora tree" right in the middle. Wife loved the free morning yoga classes. Great service and friendly people for the Waikiki strip. Modest size pool on beach side....but hey...Waikiki is about the beach and the rolling surf. Highly recommended.

We have stayed at Surfrider now 3 times and just love the hotel the service is excellent.
The Beach Bar is fantastic to meet up with friends the the Bar staff are very friendly the beach is just a few foot steps away. Terrance restaurant food is amazing. Molana Surfrider is central to everything in Waikiki with near by restaurants Dukes and the Cheesecake Factory and many more close by. Highly recommend this hotel.

I returned to this hotel for a short business trip and had another good visit. The hotel has classic styling and a great central courtyard area with a small pool and great beach access.

I love breakfast on the veranda and the French toast is the best around. The bedding is the usual great Westin standard.

Service is always friendly and attentive and I appreciate being able to walk out the front door into the heart of Kalakawa shopping district and a bounty of restaurants.

The only things keeping it from getting all 5 starts is the noise if you get one of the rooms on the Aveneue side, relatively small standard rooms and slower internet than you expect when included int the resort fee.

Enjoy your stay in the heart of the action.
