We made a reservation at Clarity as it was a birthday dinner and we decided to try the tasting menu. I called to make a reservation and received text messages asking for any food restrictions which I found very helpful.
Upon our arrival we were immediately seated. The place was crowded and very loud. We were given menus and they took our drink order, then it seemed as if they forgot about us. We sat for 10 min before one waiter (not our waiter, apparently) finally came over to ask if we had any questions about the menu and we still hadn't received our drinks.
Eventually our drinks arrived and our waiter took our dinner order - which was very simple. We wanted the tasting menu and reminded them of our food restrictions. From there dinner was smooth. Our tasting menu consisted of a smoked scallop sashimi with a Maryland jumbo lump crab salad, ran roasted Dover sole, Seared Hudson Valley Foie Gras, a protein dish I cannot recall but it was replacement for the rabbit, A5 Wagyu, and dessert. Everything was delicious, especially the foie gras and the A5 Wagyu.
At one point I walked by one of the preparation areas and noticed they were making a peach dish with these giant locally grown peaches. I remarked to our waiter how perfect they looked and asked which dessert they were for. They were making a peach sauce but not for a dessert they were serving, though he offered to cut us a couple fresh peaches for our table, gratis. The were delicious and greatly appreciated. We then had our regular dessert.
Upon leaving we were given a couple bags of freshly made bread.
While the evening started out slow, once we had our waiter things really improved and ended on a strong note. We recommend Clarity and would definitely eat here again.
