Highly recommend reserving a cabin with its own bathroom. It can be very cold and dark for a midnight run to the bathroom. Cabins are clean, they do provide soap/ shampoo/ lotion etc but there are no hairdryers or coffee makers. It is very rustic and very tight quarters. It is a trek up the hill to all the restaurants etc which again is very very dark at night and most restaurants that are open for dinner are a fair distance walking. We would prefer to stay at Snow Lodge for some more modern conveniences and accessibility to everything next time. But if you are good with small, no amenities, and a hike everywhere then this will do.

The old faithful lodge is a very cool building. It has great views of Old Faithful from in the lodge. The cabins are another story. They are a place to sleep and shower off, that's it. They are proof that the NPS need to improve and upgrade its accomidations. I have seen tool sheds bigger than these "cabins", but you have limited accomidations, and if you don't call in the first hour that reservations are open for the following year, this is what you will most likely get. 1 person can be comfortable but any more it becomes tight.

Room Tip: Call early on the first day of open reservations for the next year.

Booked a Frontier cabin for a night at this lodge. The cabin is too small to move around. It lacks some of basic amenities in order to give a feel of living in early 20th century. We had a tiny, private bathroom and toiletries were ample and sufficient. The interior of the cabin looks somewhat modern and un-cabin like while the exterior looks like a cabin in the woods. Did not like the contrary look of the cabins. There was ample space for car parking. Courteous front desk staff and neat reception area are some of the other highlights. There is a clock which depicts the next eruption of Old Faithful geyser with -/+ 10 minutes.

We had a nice cabin, located behind all the 'action' but in short walking distance. Yes, we had a shared bathroom in another building, but we knew that going in. [Not a problem for us, since other nights we were in campground.] For the price and location - a good deal.

These cabins are small and some might say rustic. But they were exactly right for one person. Plus, I saw bison each night in the field that was visible from my window!! Bedding is very comfortable and they give you a cute little soap shaped like a bear. Parking right outside each cabin, which is actually really nice as compared to dragging everything into a hotel room from a parking lot. If you expect a Hilton, you might be disappointed. I had a bathroom in my cabin and that was nice. Walk 2 minutes and you can see Old Faithful. Excellent coffee in the Lodge each morning.
