Family trip through TUI from Leeds, England to Faro, Portugal with bus transfer to Spain.
Lots of daily activities, excellent food buffets, great staff.
Pools onsite and beach just across the street.
Good nightly entertainment.

After going so many times to the Canary Islands, we decided to go elswhere for our summer vacation. Isla Canela looked to us a nice place to discover. Tui.nl offered an All Inclusive stay at Barceló Isla Canela.
Nicely renovated hotel. Excellent food, nicely presented, many fish and meat dishes cooked in small portions "a la minute" at the show cooking stalls, large choice of deserts and wine offered in bottles.
Limited but good choice of International alcoholic drinks (e.g. J&B, Gordon, Ricard) in the bars, others at half of normal price.
Rooms are small but OK for 2 persons. Large shower in the bathroom.
Sufficient sunbeds at the pool and an umbrella per 2 beds! Reserving beds is prohibited AND respected by the guests. What a luxury! Even at 12 noon one could find available beds.
Staff is friendly and always ready to help.
Restaurant was noisy but we where there in high season with lots of large families with children.
We definitely will go back.
To conclude: a nice hotel with excellent food and drinks, good staff and services. Highly recommendable.

We had 11 nights here and it was excellent, all the staff were kind and friendly, the food was excellent, the pool area is good although the water was a tad cold. The evening entertainment was good quality, the animation team are brilliant led by Jamie, they are obviously trained dancers, they aren't too pushy but still made you feel special even if you didn't always join in with the activities. There is music around the pool but it's not too loud - they seem to have the balance just right. I would definitely go back.

Lovely hotel in well landscaped gardens. Pool for both adults and children. Lots of activities during the day for both. Food is exceptional with a wide variety of hot and cold. They also serve other traditional dishes.

Lovely hotel but definitely geared up for the Spanish, mainly Spanish food and the bit of entertainment well Spanish. Got very bored on the evenings as there's nothing there, few stalls across the road and a train that takes you into the town but just restaurants and a harbour there, would have been fine for me and hubby but nothing for English teenagers. Spent most of our time on the beautiful beach across the road but 15 euro's a day for sun beds soon mounts up, didn't stay by the pool as not enough sun beds plus couldn't stand the noise of the Spanish poolside entertainment. Can't say i was too impressed with the amount of trips available, wanted to go on the dolphin spotting one but only runs on Sundays, we arrived and left on Sundays so couldn't be done, girls wanted to do horse riding on the beach which was available but not from the hotel we were staying at, they take your money then expect you to make your own way there, come on tui, if you offer a trip arrange transport. we did do one trip which was not cheap but if it's in your budget i highly recommend it, its the blue lagoon one, had an amazing day there. It's a lovely hotel with a beautiful beach but i'm afraid i wouldn't return.

Room Tip: Don't pay for sea view, it's not what you'd expect.
