“Secluded and peaceful location”
Reviewed 30 August 2017 for a stay in August 2017

The location is very picturesque and peaceful. My daughter and I stayed for 4 nights and this was the perfect spot to explore Suffolk. We would recommend visiting Flatford Mill and Jimmy's Farm, just outside Ipswich. Cambridge is also worth a visit. The cottage itself is indeed quirky: lots of original features and just what we expected. The stairs are quite steep, as expected in building from this period, so some may struggle - not a problem for us, though. The pizza oven was a bonus, even though we didn't manage to use it (our incompetence, not the oven!). We could recommend eating at the Peacock Inn which is just a short drive from the cottage. The owner is non-intrusive, which we like, but prompt to reply to queries - very helpful. The only thing we would comment on is that there did not appear to be microwave, although this appeared on the list of amenities on the website. This was not an issue for us, really (and it may well be there but escaped our notice) but may be for some if visitors if they had packed microwaveable food. On the whole, the stay was thoroughly enjoyable and we would love to stay again. Thank you!

“Magical”
Reviewed 5 July 2017 for a stay in June 2017

This cottage is an absolute gem. Quirky it most definitely is. Great location for peace and quiet, as well as ideally placed for exploring Suffolk. Lovely sunny garden for chilling out with a G&T. Sammy the owner is very helpful pre trip, and texted us to make sure we were settled in. 2 very comfy beds, well kitted out kitchen, and generally just perfect.

“Lovely stay in a lovely 'quirky' cottage”
Reviewed 26 January 2017 for a stay in December 2016

We stayed here in December for a couple of days and had a lovely time. The cottage is cosy, clean and really nicely decorated. Samantha is really quick to respond to emails and queries and very helpful but also gives you full privacy and is very non intrusive. The surrounding countryside is beautiful and we went on lovely walks with the dog. Highly recommend The Bildeston Crown Pub, which we walk to from the cottage. Really delicious food and great service. All in all had a lovely time. Thank you Samantha

“Lovely rustic and quaint cottage”

Just come back from a two night stay, it was a lovely relaxing time. The cottage is very rustic and cosy. I am 6 " tall and although had to duck under the doorways could stand up in all the rooms with space above me...It was great that our dogs could enjoy it as well. The garden is fully enclosed and there are plenty of places to walk close by. Would recommend if you want to somewhere to escape and chill out.
