If this encounter was our first view of a country hotel in Uruguay we probably would not have stayed there. But other rural hotels in this country look equally dingy and rundown. The staff is very friendly and helpful, making every effort to please. The hotel has good showers with plenty of hot water and they have gated parking for the car. The breakfast is expanded continental with great OJ and cereal and yogurt. The breakfast room is large but a bit dimly lit. Next day, the Hotel Plaza looked like a better option but as we didn't stay there, I can't say how it would rate.
