So, if they have friendly service and nice harbour views - why only a 3 star rating ?

Service was friendly, but they did overlook our drinks order until I got up to enquire about it. Friday lunch - and not too busy although they did not seem to have enough staff behind the bar.

Also, the menu is not great. In fact, very average. My wife had the lobster and prawn bread roll. Ordinary white bread roll and she couldn't really taste the lobster. Something you might have received at a Takeaway place - although not for the price charged.

I had their fish & chips. The actual fish inside the batter was good. I didn't like the taste of the batter much. And just the pretty ordinary chips. Nothing special to "write home about".

For such a great venue they need a better and more interesting menu. Fine food it is not. Sorry, but not even good Pub food on today's standards.

Much more imagination required. Definitely not value for money.

Hi and we appreciate you taking the time to acknowledge our friendly service and nice harbour views. We're sorry your drink order took longer than you expected and found some of our menu not 'fine food'. Just to clarify we are a cafe and not a pub or a fine dining restaurant. We aim to provide a quality cafe menu to our guests which as you can see from our many many positive reviews on Google, Facebook and TripAdvisor, it is to the liking of the overwhelming majority of our valued guests. We'll be sure to pass your comments onto our chef and hope you'll try us agin in the future.

The location was excellent, the service was the best, the food was up to its usual high standard and their Covid procedures were spot on.

However the one point that was spoiling our visit, was the lack of air conditioning on a very, very hot January day. I assume that the style of the building with its very high ceilings and the super hot temperatures outside made it difficult to keep cool. And it took the edge off what should have been a very good dining experience.

We will no doubt try it again but not in extreme hot conditions.

By the way, the Pavlova was absolutely outstanding.

Luckily we arrived early on a Sunday without a booking and got a table on the outside deck that had a brilliant harbour view. I had the barramundi fillet and my family had the lobster and prawn roll. For desert we shared the pavlova and banana parfait. All dishes were very tasty. Prices are reasonable for whar you get. There is a 10% surcharge for Sunday - which i would have otherwise given as a tip as the service was also very good.

Great location and great food. Staff helpful and attentive. Highly recommend the place. A 5 minute walk from meter parking so best to drop off your guests at location then park up the hill in the street.

Offers so much by fails to deliver. While food is fresh the seafood linguini was full of small pieces of shell and a pavlova took 40 minutes to arrive. They seem to prefer you use an ordering app at the table rather than staff take an order. This means that your plates only get cleared when the next order arrived. Premium prices need a premium service.
