Turner up right at opening for dinner and was seated no problem. I was not familiar with this story of cooking and wow what a treat. I ordered from the set menu which included a charcuterie appetizer which was good, raviolis which were excellent and the roast beef which was really nice. Also had beignets which was like a tempura of vegetables, so good! Too much food for one person. I also had the charlotte aux fraises dessert which was great as well. All served by a friendly waiter. I really enjoyed my dinner and will return again.

First advice: reserve ahead! This restaurant features traditional Nicoise cooking and it's hearty stuff. Their featured dish is fresh vegetables and Beef, simmered for hours. With their "daube" as it is called, comes a local recipe for Nicoise ravioli. Also, in season, you can get stuffed small new vegetables, including battered and fried "zucchini" squash flowers. As I said, "come hungry"! Prices are mid-range and reasonable for what you get. Their local wines are usually well paired and reasonable, too. Restaurant only, not a hotel. Try La Gaude or St. Jeannet for local hotels, away from the coastal hoards of tourists. Annually closed from mid February to mid-March. They also have a good website. (see TripAdvisor link)

Clearly not a pleasant place to eat. Service is quite rude when you ask for something and food is clearly not up to the expectations given by the price. Meat was dry, many dishes were watery and pasta didn't look like it

Turned up without a reservation and it was not a problem.

It's a basic place serving good honest food. Decor is dated but that is irrelevant when your having a French evening with pals.

The food was very nice. They serve local wines which is always a nice touch. Especially when the wine is priced so reasonably.

The service was good, not too OTT and we left feeling happy and satisfied.
