Thisis a wonderful old converted farmhouse in the foothills of Sorrento. It offers magnificent views of the surrounding landscape and the Bay of Naples but you need a car!! Other reviews have not mentioned this and although the hotel states it is 1.4 miles from town it isn't! It would take at least 1.5 hours to walk these steep hills and the roads are so winding and with no pavements and add in bonkers Italian drivers, you'd be lucky to arrive in one piece! We arrived at the end of the season and felt that they were using up their supplies for breakfast - not imaginative at all and very little fresh fruit and choice.
We had the'economy' room at the top of the house which only had a porthole window and was very dark. The room itself was large but suffered from lack of consistent hot water. The staff were helpful and one spoke English well. The nearby restaurant Zio Sam was a saviour when we didn't want to return to the town in the evening. The food was excellent and very much used by the locals.More
