Absolutely loved this hotel. Beautiful rooms, great staff and a lovely roof terrace. Breakfast was good and staff were on hand to help with any bookings required.
Highly recommended for any visitors going to a lovely little town.

We spent 11 nights at the Palazzo Mosco Inn as a family of 3 in mid-June. After a long drive from Bari airport we parked our hire car on the outskirts of the Old Town and phoned the hotel; within 5 minutes one of the girls from Reception arrived at our car and helped bring our luggage to the hotel, and gave me information on where to park the car.
Having read previous reports about not being able to drive in the Old Town, I was reassured to be told that some free parking spaces were available in the Port area (but you had to be lucky to get a free place, or drive around a bit and hope that a space became available), Alternatively there were plenty of spaces available through the car park barrier where the cost is €2 per hour - however, the charge only applies from 3pm to midnight so it as possible to park for free part of the day.
Back at the hotel, we were delighted to find that our room (Tulipana) on the first floor had a window and small balcony overlooking the street and had a pull-out couch/bed which was perfect for our teenager, and a beautiful double bed up a set of spiral stairs on a mezzanine level.
The hotel is small and unique with only around 10 rooms, but it is beautifully furnished and has an air of calm about it. Breakfast is available on a rooftop terrace overlooking the town and with views of the sea; there was plenty to eat each day with cereals, yougurt, fruit, cold meats, croissants, etc... more than enough to see you through the day.
Up another set of stairs onto the top roof terrace here are sun beds and chairs and a wonderful view of the sea across Gallipoli.
The staff in the hotel were so friendly and helpful and couldn't do enough to help; most of them spoke excellent English and they provided good information and advice on places to visit, restaurants, etc.
The hotel is located in a small street very close to the Castle area and only one street away from Antonietta de Pace (main street). It's also only a 5-minute walk from Gallipoli's own public beach which was uncrowded and clean, with beautiful clear turquoise water. I imagine it will become very crowded when the Italian holiday period starts in July and August, but mid-June was just perfect.
To sum up, the Palazzo Mosco is a wonderful, relaxing place to stay; I would recommend it to anyone looking for something a bit special and a bit different and will definitely plan to return again myself in the future.

Room Tip: First or second floor rooms are best; ask if your room has a window.....

Gallipoli is a fabulous spot to spend a few days in and there aren't that many hotels in the old part of town. The Mosco Inn is highly recommended for it's friendly welcome and service, great location and fabulous building.

Breakfast is simple but covers all needs, there is no restaurant but there are so many eating and drinking location on the doorstep so no disadvantage at all.

Highly recommended and would live to visit again.

Tip to drivers - for parking , as you come into modern Gallipoli head towards the old port on the Lungomare Marconi ( you will be led across the right hand Bridge rather than into the restricted old town) and you will eventually come to 2 car parks. The first is free but is very crowded and often looked like spaces were difficult to find and lots of double parking The second is much larger and much emptier as it is a pay on exit car park. The cost in summer is 2 euros per hour
So expect to pay 48 euros per day. Quite expensive but if you have a hire car and don't want to risk being bumped, it might be worth the expense. The hotel is about 5-10 minutes walk from the car park- come up to street level and follow the road left - you will pass the bridge and the castle to your left and the Via Micetti is on your right just after the large Martinucci ice cream parlour. You will find Palazzo Mosco Inn about 80 meters on your left.

What a fabulous time we had, the hotel is small, elegant, unique and very comfortable and the staff were absolutely so kind, nothing was too much trouble for them.

Its an old family home which has been so very cleverly changed into this unique hotel, fabulous bedrooms and bathrooms, with just 10 rooms (I believe) it has so much charm and grace.

Every morning we started our day on the roof terrace having breakfast, a lovely abundant array of croissants, bread rolls, cheeses and hams, yoghurts and muesli, juices and plenty of fresh coffee! with views of the incredible Azure sea.

We booked a superior room and loved it, from the moment we walked through the door we were made to feel welcome. Both girls were enthusiastic about their town and it's surrounding area, they couldn't stop giving us advice. Where to eat and where to go, it was like having tourist information at your fingertips. Back to the hotel, it is situated close to the harbour, where we parked our hire car, not free, I think that was for locals, but through the barrier and only 3€ a day. The hotel is in a small street a few paces past the castle. We asked a mechanic in the garage on the corner (this is a working community) and he pointed us in the right direction. You are greeted by modern glass doors on a genuinely old town property and this set the scene for the rest of the hotel. Beautifully renovated but keeping the old world charm. Our room was on the first floor, cyclamen I think, it featuring a mosaic tiled floor and fab arched ceiling. A door led through to another room with full height doors opening on to a small balcony and a spiral staircase to a mezzanine with a further two beds, again with an arched ceiling. Breakfast was on the roof terrace which again had a lot of thought in its design giving the hotel a boutique feel. Breakfast was adiquate without being sumptuous. We were rather late the first morning and breakfast was depleted but they russelled up some freshly boiled eggs with fresh bread and fruit which was the signature of all the staff in the hotel, nothing was too much trouble. Gallipoli is a very interesting place to stay and this was ideal for our two night visit.
