We tried to book a table of 10 people but they wouldn't allow us after 6:30pm with a 16 and 17 year old. For a restaurant at a family resort, they need to pay for a more liberal liquor license! This was the only restaurant in the Okanagan where we experienced this!

Last week we stayed at the Summerland resort, along with a number of other friends, to attend an event in the area. The location of the hotel is excellent. It is right in Summerland, but along the water, with access to water sports, a beach area and beautiful walks along the lake. There is an outside meeting area where our group gathered for a barbecue and a separate large fire pit. Also the outdoor resort pool, looks out on the lake.
The rooms were more than comfortable. Although the unit we stayed in, did not have a view (one of the few), it did have a loft bedroom and a large sitting area, with kitchen downstairs. It would be a great room for a family or group of 4. Most of the other rooms are single floor rooms that stretch the width of the hotel and all have a beautiful views off a patio. Our only caution of the location is that there is not really an onsite restaurant and no lounge or bar. There is a small cafe, with a limited menu, open for breakfast and lunch. The food was good one day but inconsistent the next. I guess the idea is that most people buy groceries and make their own meals in their suite so I would recommend that visitors make a stop before hand at a grocery store. The kitchen is totally equipped.
There is also a restaurant right beside the hotel, although not affiliated with the resort. It does give priority to resort guests, but only if you reserve from your room first. On two occasions we could not get in and unfortunately there is very little open (food or drink wise) in Summerland, after 8:00 pm. Even the local pub, which was good, has a kitchen that closes down at 10.
