Great drinks... queso fundido was delicious along side with the cebollitas. Nice art pieces on the walls.

Thank Ricardo V

I read a lot of reviews before coming here...seems like it is not what it used to be. We got a couple of dishes, fresh fish, ceviche..they were good, nothing great.

This is our third visit to Isla Holbox and we always make a point of having lunch at Viva Zapata; once again, it did not disappoint. It is nothing flash but the staff are friendly and the food is always fresh and tasty. Even though the island had 3 days of rough water (fishing boats have a hard time with the catch), my fish ceviche was excellent and fresh. We have noticed restaurant prices have risen on the island but Zapata is still reasonable given it serves fresh seafood.

Six of us went for a nice dinner while visiting Holbox. This is a large and lively restaurant with a good bar crowd upfront. Once we were seated we all ordered different meals. My wife thought her lobster was fantastic and the seafood pasta was also very good. Three others ordered the spaghetti carbonara and they were not thrilled as they were covered with far too much carbonara sauce. My grilled fish dinner was just ok. There are better restaurants on the island.

We had a mixed seafood platter witch was one of the best meals we had during our stay in Mexico. They also have a good selection of Tequila :-)
Go there!
