A private village is actually pretty appropriate. The property is located directly on the beach with a number of buildings near the beach and others on a small hill overlooking. The rooms were on the smaller side, but clean, modern, and comfortable. Breakfast was served beachside and was more than adequate to start your day. The staff at the front desk and at breakfast were wonderful. We arrived well after midnight and they made arrangements with the security guard to let us in and give us our key. Just let them know in advance because check-in closes around 9pm.

To start your day, just wander down the beach (turn right), find a place renting chairs and settle in. The first option is about a 15 minute walk. The second option called "Cabanas" is about 30-40 minutes. Both are great, but if you are up for a walk, the second is better. More private. You will share a beach with ten other people.

For heading out at night, you will need a cab. The ten minute ride will cost about 20 reais. The front desk can call one for you. There is a cab stand in town for the return trip.

We would absolutely return to this property and stay longer!

My husband and I stayed at Privillage for the first 5 days of our honeymoon (early October) and couldn't have found a better place! Though town was an easy walk/cab ride away, we spent almost all of our time at the hotel and exploring the neighboring beach because there was so much to enjoy without leaving! The hotel owner Vinicius and his wife Andrea are lovely people and gracious hosts who do everything they can to improve your stay - including inviting us to a complementary candlelit honeymoon dinner! They arranged for a taxi to take us from the Porto Seguro airport to the hotel and back - key because we don't speak Portuguese. Their staff is fantastic as well - their chef Lilliana makes scrumptious fish and beef dishes, and the server/bartender Douglas kicked off our evenings with delicious caipirinhas. We really couldn't recommend this beach paradise enough!!

Room Tip: rooms high on the hillside are quiet with beautiful views

We stayed at the Privillage for 8 days. We were treated like royalty by the all staff at the location. The Pousada is well located, away from the centre of Arraial D'Ajuda and ideal for relaxing and keeping in touch with nature. There is a good sized swimming pool and the beach is just a few metres away. The apartments, gardens, restaurant and everything is kept very clean and the place is a paradise!. We would certainly go back again and recommend it as an excellent destination for a well deserved and relaxed holiday. I would like to thank all the staff again at the Privillage, who went out of their way to make us feel so welcomed.

Room Tip: All rooms are excellent!

Just returned from an early August week in Privillage. Let me say that it really exceeded our expectations, despite being a little over our normal budget. The rooms are basic, but adequate and perfectly comfortable.. Don't worry - you won't want to spend any time there. Why would you? The rest - perfect and more. The room cabins are set in intimate but lush gardens that are immaculate. Everything looks wonderful, yet doesn't feel overly posh or stuffy. You really can relax. It's all so beautiful, with a comfortable "grotto" in the gardens, a small seating area by the pool, hammocks and the pool itself. All this and all you have to do is hop down to the lovely beach below. There is a change of atmosphere at the beach 500m south, where there are relaxed beach bars and pink cliffs. Our kids (6&4) loved it all and were able to run around the gardens and play unsupervised. Staff were friendly and helpful, the owner charming when he arrived late in the week. A cheap taxi ride takes you into Arraial in the evenings if you want more choice of restaurants. I just want to go back!
