Wonderful place! Has everything you need and would be especially good for families or long stays. Staff were amazingly accomadating, we turned up when they were crazy busy and run off there feet and clearly flustered but they stayed so professional and helpful and lovly! They had all the time in the world for us.
The beds are super comfy, kinda crampt rooms but you expect that in a place like this and for the price you get your moneys worth!
Layout is great for socialising at night and all the facilities are great
Sooo handy having rental gear on site plus its so much cheaper than renting up the mount!
One of the nest places i have stayed!

We loved the facilities, the hot tubs were amazing after a days skiing and the lounge with fire was nice and cosy too. Ski hire was reasonable and the lodge is in a good location to ski either Whakapapa or Turoa. The kitchen and toilets were both clean. The room was basic but for the price it did the job. However our room was in a separate building to the lodge, which was quite impractical in the cold winter nights. Also just a suggestion to make the free tea and coffee also available in the kitchen..

Highly recommend staying here - cheap and basic accomodation, great and warm atmosphere, friendly and helpful owners! Clean and tidy, common room with a bar and comfy lounges. Games room with pool table, table tennis etc etc. Can hire ski gear etc from here also which is great! Cant fault anything!

If you need an inexpensive place to stay in the Tongariro/Lake Taupo area, Pipers is it. We needed inexpensive sleeping space for three adults and found it here. The lodge is a trifle dated, but comfy and warm surrounded by spectacular scenery. The employees are friendly and helpful. The large common areas are great for informal gatherings.

We loved our stay here! Dianne is such a wonderful host, and we would have stayed longer if it we didn't have to go back to work. The room and bathrooms are clean and the staff is very friendly. We stayed for two nights and got with the package which includes breakfast, packed lunch for the crossing, and return transportation to the crossing. The package is worth it, I highly recommend it! Dianne even gave us complimentary access to wifi, on top of the free 400mb. We will definitely return!
