We stayed for 6 nights in Aug. The hotel could do with some sprucing up in places but overall it grew on us the longer we stayed.
The rooms and beds are very big and comfortable although the pillows were awful. Had some of my best nights sleep here in a very long time. Complimentary water daily and also a bottle refill area by pool.

Breakfast was generally good but some days had long queues at egg station and fresh fruit could have more variety.
Plenty of beds around pool and in garden area and good attentive pool staff. Even though there are 2 childrens pool areas main pool did have a lot of children playing and jumping in it which at times was annoying and no sign of any supervision.

We didn't eat here in the evenings as there are plenty of good restaurants within a 10 min walk.

Overall we enjoyed our stay here. Having said that not sure we'd return. It's a big hotel and can't say the staff impressed. We weren't even asked if we enjoyed our stay at check out and no sign of a customer feedback form. Very few smiles around the place!

Thank you for rating us 4/5 with positive attributes in value, sleep quality, comfortable accommodation, facilities and amenities.

We recognise at times we need to assert the enforcement with increased monitoring of the pool area and deal with errant guests accordingly. Our team at all times tried their best to assert strict pool etiquette rules which can be a challenging task with errant guests at odd times.

I am disappointed that you found some of our staff unsmiling and certainly we are not known for unfriendly services. We will take corrective action and remind all staff to “serve with a smile” but rest assured we are serious about offering excellent services and facilities and we rely on strong teamwork of ALL staff to achieve that.

We look forward to welcoming you and your family so that we can extend a friendly and enjoyable stay on your next visit.

The ac in the room we checked in was not working. After ringing up housekeeping and reception including the duty manager umpteen times, after one sweaty hour, they sent a mechanic who tinkered around with the ac. Could not make it work. After ringing up the reception, and asking for a room change, the lady at the reception coolly asked me to come down to the reception and deposit the key and then she would give the key to another room. On my insistence, they finally sent up the key to another room .
Wasted 2 hours of a short stay.
Apart from the above, the stay was OK.
The beach next to the hotel is not swimmable, as you can see jellyfish floating in the water.

This is my wifes and i 2nd visit.we brought the kids for their first visit. They love the place. The resort is great. The food is great. And the staff. Well. They treat you like good friends/family. All the staff are great no matter what area you go to. I HIGHLY recommend the bayview beach resort. We will be back again next year. Thanks to all staff for making our stay memorable.

There's no shortage of hotels on Penang - but no other hotel has Harry, Bob or the crew at the bar like the Bayview has!!! Harry is the cocktail mixer from central casting! Big Bad Bob is his sidekick - and they keep the place rocking. HINT - These guys are Muslim Malays, but that's no problem whatsoever for Westerners, they're the best cocktail mixers with the best happy hour on the island.

Checked in in was easy .
Although not overly freindly
Our first room's carperts were dirty ,hair in Bath. It was Awful.
We Told reception,so they moved us into a second room. In this room the tv dosent work, To late to do anything about it .Told reception next morning, and was put into third room,
Went to reception and rang about having safe looked at nobody came
Movie channel had no sound .
Breakfast ok.
Staff didn't smile , no greeting when you are walking in, only at breakfast did anyone smile at us but that wasn't many of them .
Carpets were putrid outside rooms.
It wasn't a happy place to stay at, bad energy, couldn't wait to leave .
And thats not what you want when your on a holiday We stayed for five days. I wouldn't recommend to anyone. Very old needs a huge overhaul. And staff need to smile , i should feel welcomed as a guest.
We have traveled through a lot of Asia and this would have to be the worst place we stayed at.
My one positive was the bed, very comfortable.
Really disappointed especially for so called 4 star .

We are sorry that we did not meet up to your expectations of our rooms and we apologise for the inconvenience caused over the changing of rooms. Certainly we are not known for uncaring services so I am disappointed by the poor impression our staff had handled your complaint and I regret that a manager was not contacted to resolve your feedback to a higher level. Rest assured we take guests’ feedback seriously and too sorry that somehow this ended with an unpleasant holiday.

We regret that there were some ‘attention-to-details’ issues that our housekeeping staff may have missed whilst servicing the room before your arrival. This errant drop in cleanliness which was out of our normal standards have been discussed with our housekeeping team and some of the defects mentioned have now been addressed by our maintenance team. We apologise for giving you a poor impression with your encounter of having to change rooms denting your expectations and our reputation. I know we can and will do better to address any unusual shortcomings to ensure your future visits will have no such abnormality.

I sincerely regret that we did not meet up to your expectations on your stay with us. There appears to be no record on our Duty Manager complaint log book (with a match of your descriptions) for us to mitigate your dissatisfaction and we wish we have been given the opportunity when you were here to ensure you would be happy with your stay.

We thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback and we look forward to welcome you back with the service excellence you have been accustomed to and I hope you will give us another chance to redeem ourselves and restore your confidence and give us an opportunity to serve you better. Thank you.
