We immediately loved the rustic and genuine feel of whitewashed stone walls, stone floors and wood furniture at a stone throw from the beach. Costantinos Proimos and his staff are extremely kind, helpful and friendly and made us feel at home. The two storey flat we stayed in overlooked the swimming pool and we could enjoy the view of the pool from either our balcony or the patio ouside our flat. Proimos Maisonettes is in a quiter area of Platanias so it is also a very good place to relax and enjoy the quiet. It is only a one minute walk from the beach and a five minute walk from the centre of Platanias. You can either make your own meals as the small kitchenette is equipped with a microwave,a kettle, a toaster and two hobs, or enjoy the food at the bar (such as the delicious home made moussaka). It also very close to the highway so if you rent a car you can easily drive to Chania or other destinations. A free parking space is available next to the hotel.I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to avoid the cool sameness of contemporary beach resorts and is looking for a confortable and nice, family-owned place to stay with character

Dear Tommaso,

thank you so much for your nice review. As a small hotel we do not afford a great advertisement budget and thus we value greatly the recommendations from our guests. On behalf of the entire team at Proimos Maisonnettes we would like to thank you and your wife and tell you how much we also enjoyed your stay and to get to know you a little bit. Of course you are always welcome to our hotel and we wish you all the best in your work and a nice summer! From our part we will continue to work hard to satisfy our guests because holiday time is one of the most precious times of the year! We know that and we regard it highly. Best,
Constantinos

We booked this hotel as a very late booking in October 2015, we booked the day before we flew out. the reviews we wrote on this hotel / Apartment complex at the time we're mixed. But as always we went with an open mind.
After a little poking about on the net we decided on public transport from the hotel, so I will give you my advice, DONT BOOK AIRPORT CONNECTIONS TO CHANIA or Platanias, no point, more expensive by far. from the Airport you step out th door and the bus stop is on the right out the door, Euro 2.50 per person each way, this gets you to the main bus station, from there you get the bus to Plantanias Euro 2.00 each. Now, they run bus services, but the buses do not have service numbers. but if you get your ticket from the ticket office the bus fleet number is printed on the ticket. so you know your getting the right bus. easy.
for self catering you need look no further than Lidl which is just 100m past the hotel, so shopping is alot cheaper than some shops, but the main shopping area in Platanias has lots of domestic shops as it is a residential area as well as holiday. so shopping not too bad really.
Ok, first I would like to thank Constantinos for just being you. While there I was suffering with bad heartburn and indigestion, I had run out of my out treatments, and it turns out the chemist was closed for a few days. When he found out he went out of his way to get me something that worked perfectly. and meant I could enjoy our holiday.

This complex is just nice, not so big that its noisy, it has a small amount of staff who are very polite and helpful, the apartments are clean and very nice, unlike some of the bigger hotels we have stayed in, this hotel has beds in the rooms you actually can sleep in, the mattresses is nice and soft. with extra bedding provided.
the kitchen is small, and I spoke to the owner about this, the kitchen could do with more equipment, utensils we're basic, and he agrees that needs a little work.
the swimming pool is not huge, but clean.
the Bar stocks all the drinks you would expect, and unlike other hotels the bar prices are very good for a hotel.
The weather while we was there was just terrible, but you cant always have great weather.
The hotel provides free of charge a selection of over 100 dvd's in english if the weather is bad, and this is free of charge. with films to suit most tastes.
For a nice trip out, pop to the Market in Chania (sounds like hania) it is an old market with lots of shops and stalls, and is surrounded by lovely little shops where you could get a bargin, if you love cooking you will like the market, with lots selling fresh and dried herbs and spices.
Chania is a wonderful place, you get a true idea of Greek life there.
One tip I would give is be careful when crossing the roads, if you been to Spain and know what they drive like there, the standard of driving on Crete is way worse, with little sign that anyone maintains there vehicles. and they do NOT stop just because your crossing the roads. (but will stop for the stray dogs).

Give Proimos a go, you will not regret it.
Thank you guys, have a good year

Room Tip: all rooms are the same basically, and there all close to the pool and bar

Dear Robert,
on behalf of the entire team of Proimos Maisonnettes we would like to thank you and your wife for your kind and generous comments on our small hotel. It is the greatest compensation for us to see that our efforts are being appreciated. I would like to assure you that this year we plan to go through all the kitchens of the maisonnettes in order to upgrade them, in accordance with your suggestions. Furthermore, we plan to improve bedding, airconditioning and we have already repaired a leak that we found in the roof of the very maisonnette where you stayed. We try to do our best to have our guests happy for holiday time is very precious and we are all aware of this. Please accept our warmest season's greetings and wishes for the new year!

A very special place where it's immediately apparent that there has been a lot of love and time spent on developing, detailing and running this charming and beautiful place.

Doctor Constantinos is most kind, welcoming and helpful and all the staff are very friendly and happy too. The apartment is lovely, clean and non formulaic with lovely décor and paintings. There is a nice balcony and also a terrace with table and chairs.

There is a nice clean bright swimming pool and bar/restaurant there. The beach is barely 200 metres away.

Platanias is a relaxing beach resort that has plenty of local restaurants and bars, we enjoyed walks in the countryside as well as along the beach.

We hired a car from the airport through EasyJet and enjoyed exploring the north western part of Crete and especially the old Venetian port of Chania - about 20 minutes drive away. It is very enjoyable late afternoon with lots of atmospheric bars and tavernas overlooking the harbour

We loved our stay and unreservedly recommend Proimos !

This is wonderful place, with very friendly and hospitable owner and staff. The hotel is placed next to the beach and very close to the town.
The maissonnetes are well-equipped. You can find there all what you need. The pool is perfect for both adults and children, pool toys and sunbeds are always available.
The Frog bar offers a fabulous organic breakfast and other meals, drinks, and so on.
And garden, it is impossible to describe. You have to see this garden yourself.
So, if you search traditional Greek atmosphere, I would certainly recommend this wonderful place.

Room Tip: Each room is different and has individual atmosphere.

On behalf of the entire staff of Proimos Maisonnettes, Constantinos the owner, Vaso the housekeeper, Aristea and Eva our cooks and bartenders we would like to thank Ms. Guzik for her report and tell her and her colleagues that we also enjoyed their presence here. We have a committment to our guests to make their stay as best and as memorable as we can and we strive to satisfy this committment every day. Of course we have a small hotel and we are absolutely dependent on the good word of our guests as we have very limited budget for advertising. Thus it is a great pleasure for all of us that fills us with pride when we find out that we have succeeded in our work. We all send you our best regards and thank you once again.
