We are Australian & have been travelling to Greece and the Islands for the last 8 years. We have stayed in hotels on the edge of the caldera in Santorini, accommodation in Mykonos with views to die for but this pales into insignificance with the genuinely warm Greek hospitality that we received at Achousa. A very quiet hotel off the main road. 10 minute walk into town. Our room & bathroom was spotlessly clean with clean sheets everyday, air conditioning & a balcony overlooking the pool. The pool is large with a nice little area for children, adult area is standing depth graduating to deep. What more could you want? The breakfast was by the pool, Greek & delicious. Cooked breakfasts can be ordered. We really enjoyed the karaoke night. Two bars...one by the pool serving snacks & meals. We can't speak highly enough of the family who run this hotel. One of the reasons we keep returning to Greece...not just for the sun, beautiful beaches & ancient sites but that something invaluable that we seem to find in Greece.....great people.

On arrival a friendly welcome from Steve the batman and quickly checked in. First impression of the reception/bar area was very good.
We got to our room...and we're a little underwhelmed by our room.
Kitchen area with 2 ring job and sink with fridge was ok..badly fitted cupboards and minimal utensils/pans..
Room itself was decorated ok..but the fixtures and fittings really are tired. Wall lights above the bed that don't work and telephones that wouldn't look out of place in a 60s sitcom.
Wardrobes had badly warped and I'll fitting doors.
Bathroom sinks cold tap only worked with a dribble and was rammed against the soap dish..shower was good.. paint peeling and tiles with dirty grout not too good.

The room was to be honest the only downside.

Aircon is at extra cost of 50euro per week.

The pool was good with plenty of sunbeds.
The poolside bar was reasonably priced and the food was good. Service was very good and friendly.

The best bit about here is the staff..all extremely friendly and happy to help and making every day more enjoyable.

The hotel is a 15/20 minute walk from the faliraki bars/restaurants and beach. A number of supermarkets are close by. We recommend Morrison's..I kid u not.

Would we go again...probably...definitely if some improvements were made.

Once again I am writing about the Achousa having just returned. Myself and hubby spent a well earned break there on the 30th Aug and yet again I cannot praise this place enough. It's Greece, It's cheap, It's extremely clean. Clean towels every day, and fresh sheets every other
The pool area is tidy with plenty of sunbeds. The hotel was full but we never failed to pick a spot around the pool. Only drawback is that the pool itself was freezing but it is late season so it was expected.
Don't go Bed and Breakfast if you like a varied morning menu. We bought a few Breakfasts from the bar and they were very good
I was sorry to read another review which said they had been burgled and all their money stolen. We left money out, jewelry, and phones but didn't have a problem and the maids were extremely nice. I guess you just never know?
The hotel is in major need of refurbishment. The accommodation is basic but ideal if you want to use the hotel as a base or are on a budget
Drinks, we found expensive in general and not as cheap as a couple of years ago.
The main road into Faliraki remains a huge problem when you try to cross and you really need your wits about you. It's fast and very busy at times

We had a great meal at the Alabama Bar. If you like big portions - you will not be disappointed. Their mixed grill will easily feed two people and it's very good quality. That said we never had a bad meal anywhere and I would encourage you to try as many restaurants as possible
Get the water taxi in to Rhodes Town. It's a great way to cool down. It costs 7.50 euros one way and 14 euros return. A bus is less expensive but a Taxi back will cost 20 euros
Don't be afraid to try this hotel. It's our 2nd time here but if it's luxury you want then you will be disappointed. If you want a cheap holiday with a lovely family run hotel then the Achousa fits the bill

We stayed here for 10 days for a much needed holiday. Steve the barman was lovely and from day 1 knew what we liked to drink. Hotel is situated in lovely grounds. We could see that they are trying to update it as they go along, not an easy thing to do. The room we had was clean but does need some updating and repairs but having said that it did what it was supposed to do, somewhere to sleep and get ready. Would go back!

It was an overall good experience for us, for a fair price! Distance to Faliraki beach - 15/ 20 minutes to walk, room with old furniture, but preety well equipped, nice garden, nice pool (it is closing at 20), bus stop nearby! We slept in a room which was closed to the restaurant (noisy until 1 am), air conditioning is available at 6 Euro / day - supplementary to be paid at the reception, wi-fi - preety good connection, but not for streaming...generally speaking we were satisfied and we consider! It was not too expensive to sleep at the hotel and this aspect was important this year for us! We definitely recommend this hotel for persons that are not to pretentious and not expecting to get too much for a small amount of money to be paid for the accommodation! Rhodos and especially Faliraki beach is just perfect and we will defibitely come back sometime in the near future!
