Firstly, Cetara is not a place overrun with tourists. You will find a spot on the small beach in this charming fishing village and it created a fantastic day for our family of four. We booked Sunday lunch at the restaurant and found the experience to be uneven. The duo of local anchovies was superb and accompanied by local chilies and dressed simply with olive oil. The crudo was alright even if it looked unappealing. The bread was burned on the outside and the inside crumbled from being overcooked. The fish of the day was tasty but we found scales which led to the rating herein. The lemon and white wine sauce was very good and didn't overwhelm the fish. We had such high expectations but it was alright. They made a very good pasta with cheese for our daughter and the Fiano wine was excellent.

We loved the entire experience at dinner. Service was wonderful, food was delicious and we were sad we could not return again as we had to leave the next day. Highly recommend!

At first sight this appears to be a reasonable restaurant. We were charged 80 Euros for two meals of ridiculously small portions. They divided an average size fish in two and gave us half each together with one spoonful of mashed potato and a few beans. This is the first time I have ever actually queried a bill either at home or abroad but they insisted I pay and being on holiday I preferred to avoid trouble and I paid. Do not go there.

While the food was decent ( I recommend the risotto) the poor quality of the service brought the quality of this restaurant right down. Everything had to be asked for at least twice, the waitstaff were surly and rude, and the owner/manger seemed run off his feet with only 5 or so tables due to his inept staff. Would not recommend, won't be returning.

Absolutely disgraceful! Visiting the restaurant on behalf of some tour companies looking to get an honest experience and it was hard not to shame him on the spot. Most of the restaurants I have visited in the area so far have been honest and welcoming and it is unfortunate that a slimy waiter who preys on tourists who do not understand Italian may give Restaurante S.P. or Cetara a bad name in tourism. I do not speak the language well but understand well enough to have heard the disgraceful remarks being made about patrons, including my party, to locals who were also eating lunch. He quickly woos the unknowing prey and talks them into ordering the expensive catch of the day instead of what they originally requested. He then proceeds to be condescending and insulting but does it with a slimy charm that a naive visitor may not pick up on. The bill then comes illegible on a small piece of graph paper with a total that does not add up to what you actually ordered.

Again, there are many other places in the area to dine at with respectful employees who understand that tourism is what keeps their economy thriving. If only ENRICO understood that tourism keeps food on his plate and clothes on his slimy back!

The funny part is that ENRICO himself asked me to write a review on trip advisor... well ENRICO, here it is! I hope our generous tip went to Daniel as intended since he was helpful and willing to guide an American tourist through the menu and answer questions about Cetara.

The food was all delicious so it is even more unfortunate that ENRICO is hurting the business one tourist at a time.

Ciao!
