This is a hotel with an extreme potential - not fully utilized...

The "worlds best location" is the most likely description to be fitting - I travel the world on business (and leisure) and I cannot think of another place that has this view/location combination. We had oversight over the most of the Amalfi coast from the hotel and restaurant. The hotel with 11 (?) rooms is also very private. We had the opportunity to have our private view of the ocean enjoying our wine/coffee/limoncello every night.

You could also have (private) sunning option along the terraces to the ocean and you would be able to get to swim at the lower levels. It is truly amazing!

The restaurant offers good value for money options - but very variable... There is very few things to be added to get this to be a perfect retreat. In our opinion is has to do with consistency - we had very good meals, but unfortunately also not so good meals - stick with the pastas...

Not to focus too much on the rooms - but be aware where you book from.... We paid a lot more for a "superior room" just to realize that we probably ended up with one of the "worst" rooms. Not that it was bad, but the hotels.com was saying that it was "with private balcony" (and some pictures showed in-room jacuzzi) - we had 8 square meters with no view and a shared balcony with two other rooms - be advised to ask be sure to get what you order...

The rooms however were very clean and their parking guy (you will understand when you get there) is a star....

I deeply felt in love with this place, so let me start from the beginning
Location: It is perfectly situated near Furore fiord just between Praino and Conca del Marini. If you rent a car, you can stay away from crowds and be in short distance to everything. The hotel is right on the cliff with access to the sea. I took advantage of it sunbathing and swimming in the morning. I can speak about beautiful views for endless period of time, but still it is better to see on your own.
Quality and Service: Perfect. The room is not big, but has a good size with terrific view from the window and a terrace share with another room. The hotel is extremely clean and they did a good job of taking care of it.
I love the attitude of the people working there.

The room was great, the trail down to the water was steep with many handrails, the view was awesome and the food was delicious. Breakfast was included. What a great deal!

We spent a day down on the beach in Furore which was quaint. Luigi helped us get a local ferry (10 people) to Capris Island and it was a lot of fun. The service picked us up at the hotel front door and dropped us back off 7 hours later.

The staff was friendly and always there to help us have a wonderful stay. Best time we had out of 4 places we stayed in Italy!

We arrived at La Locanda del Fiordo by a sort of mistake - the company who booked our room in Praiano cancelled it at the last minute and placed us here. Lucky us! While the trip to get here (and anywhere in Amalfi) is harrowing, the hotel staff will greet you at the bus stop with a smile and help you with your luggage over to the lobby. A beautiful terrace welcomes you where the lobby and restaurant are situated. Honestly a stunning view. We were guided down steep steps to our room, which was carved directly into the cliff wall! The room itself is a little dated, but overall clean and with the exception of the shower, comfortable. The view from the room is breathtaking, and each room has a private or semi private patio with chairs where you can spend the evening watching boats speed by and the sun set.

The one thing to warn against here is that the hotel is in Fuore - a town that is essentially between towns (Amalfi and Praiano), and as such there are really no restaurants or stores to visit nearby. Most everything requires a bus trip, and the buses by the time they reach here are full.

We enjoyed a (scary!) walk down the main road to Marina di Praia where we found restaurants and a small rocky beach great for swimming - a fun spot when wanting something a little quieter than Positano.

Overall, this hotel's location is challenging, but makes up for it all with stunning views and a charming staff. Thank you for an incredible visit!

We stayed here for a week in September 2016. It is the most beautiful place on earth. The owners of La Locanda made us feel like we were regulars. The rooms were built right into the cliffs. It gave us the genuine Amalfie Coast feeling with the bluest ocean right outside our window. Each room has its own patio. And the food, WOW!!! The food is so good, people come to the hotel just to eat. And it was extremely affordable as well. We will be back. We travel all the time and have never said we wanted to come to a place again. This is the most romantic place on earth.

Room Tip: All the rooms are great, you can't go wrong.
