My wife & I travel to Ireland (at least) annually. We have (over 25 years) made many close friends throughout Ireland. We always stay at B&B's, as Irish hospitality is without peer! Each time we go, we visit our increasing group of close fiends...but also try to visit some "new" place. In July, on the way from Tipperary Town to Blarney, we had some time to go to a place we'd visited but where we had never spent much time (Dungarvan). Our dear friends, the KIELYs (of KIELY's Bar in Tipp) suggested a route, through the Vee Gap. What a terrific drive! For the first time, we used the "net" to find accommodations. Thus, we discovered and booked DUN ARD. As with most things IRISH...what a stroke of luck! Joe & Annie (the proprietors) could not have been more gracious. DUN ARD was extremely modern, spacious and luxurious! Who knew that there were 5-star B&B's?!?! Breathtaking view of Dungarvan Bay, beautiful grounds, great food and a spacious & soothing room. What amenities were missing...? NONE!!! Would we recommend DUN ARD...? YES!!! Take it from a quarter century of visits to Ireland, this 5-Star B&B should be 7-Star (one added for Annie and one for Joe! DUN ARD is NOT to be missed!
