We visited here on a Monday lunch time.Easy to drive by, as not imposing from the outside, but inside nice and cosy.We sat on the sofas by the fire which was lovely on a chilly day.
Some food was off the menu which was a bit of a shame, but we enjoyed what we chose. My wife had Ham,two eggs and chips, which was excellent.I had the beefburger which was a proper beefburger and tasted really great. All good quality food
The two ladies at the bar worked very hard keeping everything flowing.Nice relaxed pub atmosphere.

Thank You so much for your review and thank you for choosing to eat at the Pickwick.
We are sorry some of the food was off the menu when you visited us but we had just had a very busy weekend. We are on top of that now. So hopefully if we see you again in the New Year we will have everything available for you to choose.
Regards,
Rob & Carrie-Ann.

I won't say too much but...
We used to visit the Pickwick loved the food and experience.
Change of owner we visited in September on Saturday night most of the specials had gone. when we ordered the steaks only one left. portion size was small compared to others. I had pizza which looked okay, but when I used the pizza cutter it went into the wooden board which was split and look disgusting.
We regularly go out on a Saturday night around the area and enjoy the different pubs this was not a good experience,
I am sorry to say when we then paid the bill we realised that other peoples drinks had bee added to our bill, Once pointed out this was refunded, but there were four of us that won't be popping in for a coffee and beer or a meal for a while !!
AS previously stated by others the inside is nice and welcoming but the service and value of food left a lot to be desired.

Hi. I'm sorry you and your friends didn't enjoy your selves at the Pickwick. As a response to your review, we have new pizza boards and we now cover them with a sheet of parchment paper. Our head chef, Matt, wasn't working the night you came in but is now back working full time . We have also changed a lot of our staff because of problems you experienced with your bill. As the owner, I must have staff that are friendly with customers and professional working behind the bar and in the restaurant. I have made a lot of changes and as you can see, the reviews are now getting very good. Hopefully you will visit us again and I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
Kind Regards,
Rob & Carrie-Ann.

Stopped for lunch. No sandwiches available and asked for the soup but this had been taken off the menu. Lunch was nice but we did notice that a lot of food on the menu wasn’t available when we got there.

Hi. I'm pleased you enjoyed your lunch at the Pickwick but I'm sorry you didn't have as much choice as you should have done. I have made lots of changes in the last few months and everything is now always available from the menu. We also now have lots of specials to choose from. We are open from 12 noon to 2.30 and open again at 5pm till 11pm for the winter months. When we start opening all day from spring to autumn, we will be selling sandwiches and baguettes all day long.
Hopefully you will come again soon and won't be disappointed.
Kind Regards,
Rob & Carrie-Ann.

We visited the Pickwick Inn on a Monday evening whilst on holiday in Bigbury on sea to celebrate my birthday and we weren’t disappointed
As 3 of our party have celiac disease , I contacted the pub ahead of our visit and felt reassured that they could safely cater for us offering GF pizzas and pasta and totally understood , and put processes in place to avoid cross contamination.

We all enjoyed different pizza toppings ( 3 gluten free) - all of which were full of flavour and really well cooked and finished off in a traditional pizza oven.

Along with a very nice and reasonably priced bottle of wine- the total bill was good value for a lovely evening and lovely food - we would totally recommend. We will be back! Thank you

Wow... this place is amazing! Don't be put off by the shabby looking exterior. Inside you are welcomed by an open roaring fire, candle lit tables and friendly staff. The Italian cuisine is outstanding with superb choice. An added bonus to this lovely place is that it is very dog friendly (... and they sell Prosecco!) The antipasti starters and pizza are highly recommended. We have enjoyed it so much that we have booked a table for tomorrow night too!!!

We are glad that you have had a great time at the Pickwick. The fact that you have chosen to visit us again, the following day, says more about our food and our service than I possibly could. We love our customers, their dogs, and a nice glass of prosecco by the fire and are looking forward to the winter when we will have more time to enjoy all of the above.

Kind regards,
Carrie-Ann and Robert.
