On a remote cliff, at three sites surrounded by Atlantic's never ending rumbling waves, I found my perfect guesthouse for a six weeks quiet time vacation in nature. The 'perfect' part is not so strange, because half a century ago a retiring American gentleman choose this enchanting spot for his last home, after he had traveled and searched the Caribbean for two years. The home extended later into Cabier Ocean Lodge.
Cabier's almost private beach had me swim, snorkel and go for long walks from early sunrise to early sunset. At night I was fascinated by Cabier's second roof, the immense dark skies, where I watched milky ways and many falling stars. I spent hours hanging out, chatting and eating in the cool sea breeze at Cabier's terrace, where the meals and the Caribs were the best. The staff are all dears and found a place in my heart.
After having lived here for six weeks I don't want to leave.
To me Cabier is a poem.
