Was here for dinner with close friends, third time lucky , may be as it was a Sunday night...as earlier twice couldn't find a table to dine.
We enjoyed the evening in a cool ambiance and cared well by Chef Stefan, nothing was a problem..cocktail change as no ice requested, salad change for larger shreds as the waiter told us it was courgettes of vegetables but when it was served it was finely shredded and we were having it as a starter.
The pork belly was just super, moist not too oily and amazing accompaniments, cost 850/- but good for sharing, so also chicken Schnizel also large portion , being poor eaters we had to parcel piece of chicken...tender and tasty to eat .
The starters was the mozambiquan prawns , only the sauce may be salsa piri mix resembled mozambiquan pipipiri sauce.
The mixed salad was awesome , coconut pieces with carrot n cucumber with an awesome dressing.
Sorry had no place for a desert...
Portions seemed a bit too large per person.

Dear Sparkie :-),

Wow - thank you so much for your detailed review highlighting so many different things. It is always a pleasure for us to host local Goan guests and are thrilled that you had such a good experience.

Thank you also for highlighting the portion sizes - as the very last review before yours was complaining that portions are small - we (and the vast majority of our guests) feel that the portions are rather big and it is for this reason that we have to keep them fairly big.

We hope to be able to welcome you and your friends back to Go with the Flow again sometime soon in the future.

Warmest regards,

-Chef Stefan and the Go with the Flow team.

When we reached the place we were told they were fully booked. As we were leaving I just requested if one small table could be arranged and very obligingly they agreed to give us a table in a corner. We were there for over two hours and more than half the tables were free. What all the fuss about being fully booked was about I really don’t know. Saving grace was that the food was good. The portion size is small though and we need to order more than usual. Prices are high. Expensive place considering the rates and portion size.

Dear Neelu,

I was disappointed to read your review for a number of reasons.

1. As is apparent from your review - you did not make a reservation and just walked in, which often is not a problem at all but we do indeed fill up with reservations well in advance. As I am writing this on the 10th of October 2016 I already have bookings made for tables in February and March of 2017. I am presuming you came over the recent long weekend as that was the only time in the last few weeks where we were completely fully booked - both inside and on the veranda.

Unfortunately, we have limited seating available during the monsoon season as we are mostly a garden restaurant and only have 15 tables that are under a roof during the rains. These tables do indeed fill up and are allocated on a first come first serve basis to those guests who make reservations. The Veranda area, where you would have preferred to sit fills up in advance and most guests prefer to sit on the Veranda - where we only have 5/6 tables available - depending on the size of the tables booked for the night.

2. We do not like to rush our guests - so if a table is reserved for 9 or 9.30 pm we won't seat another table on that same table unless there is at least a 2-hour gap between a walk in table arriving and a booking. The bulk of our reservations are for 9 or 9.30pm - which was definitely the case during the long weekend. We served hardly any guests from 6 to 9pm and then filled up after that.
With Goa being a holiday destination and the bulk of our guests not being locals with Goa's 'Susegade' approach to life it often happens that reservations are late or just don't show up at all - especially during heavy rains and busy periods such as long weekends where there is a lot of traffic. We have a general policy of calling a table if they are 30 minutes late for a reservation to check if they are coming - if we cannot get hold of them we then move tables around and move guests seated inside to the Veranda - exactly as per your description: "I just requested if one small table could be arranged and very obligingly they agreed to give us a table in a corner"

It is very frustrating in Goa as it often happens that guests will make a reservation and then just not pitch up - which was exactly the case on the night in question. All that we can do is move tables around during the evening - exactly like what we did with your table.

Punishing a restaurant with a 3star review online simply for being fully booked when you have not made a reservation is not a fair reflection on the restaurant.

As per your comments regarding the size of our portions - I completely disagree - as do most guests who I speak to personally as well as those leaving reviews on platforms such as this - we have tapas, starters and main courses - tapas are smaller in size, and starters and main courses are actually fairly big in comparison to most international style restaurants as we know that a lot of our guests like to share items. If you only order 2 starters and expect it to be sufficient as a main course that is not going to be the case. The overwhelming majority of our guests, in fact, tell us that our portions are large and offer great value for money.

Thank you for saying that the food was good - we hope that you will come back and give Go with the Flow another chance when we are fully operational with our outside area and deck seating.

Warmest regards,

-Chef Stefan and the Go with the Flow team.

Had a lovely meal. Worth the effort to go a little out of town. The Brazilian cheese bread is out of this world. All 4 of us had lovely meals.
