We stayed there for 3 nights, although the accommodation was pretty expensive, it included also food and drinks and was one of the cheapest in the island.
Food was excellent, especially fish curry and pancakes for breakfast. Room was clean, very cosy bathroom.
The staff was great! Very friendly and communicative. We were also diving with them and they certainly made our trip funnier. Thank you guys!

We spent two nights at this place. We liked the staff there - very friendly, polite and fun. It was a chilled place and a lot of singing and guitar playing was going on. Also we made some new friends there among other visitors.
We loved the food there - every day same same but different :) and they even respected my vegetarian wishes. The room was clean. My sister took a diving trip and she loved it, even saw two turtles. Guy who introduced himself as "Michael Jackson" was very patient and helpful with her.
The only thing I would mention is that I thought that the price is bit high for what it offers for accomodation - bed to sleep (even tho it is very comfortable), no wifi, no hot shower, no AC + you have to pay for transportation even tho you are staying in their place and the transportation is their boat which would go to the island or from the island regardless if you are going + price for the snorkling trip 50 RM is bit too high too. And to everything they put 6% more for VAT - this should be already included in the price. Still this is one of the cheapest accomodation options on the island and if you are into cozy friendly atmosphere with chilled staff, I would also say one of the best ones.

Stayed here for 3 nights. It's a basic place but comfortable enough. All the staffs are friendly. Good food. The dive masters are very well experienced. Definitely going to come here again and would recommend this place to you guys.

P/s: Soon, every room will be equipped with an air-conditioner!

The place is very homely, the rooms are clean and adequately equipped with basic amenities, the diving and snorkelling equipments are new and up to date. The best memories of all are their tantalising foods prepared and their friendly - almost- feel- like- family's staffs that make you to consider whether to prolong your stay in this lodge longer than you have planned. ;)

Room Tip: Room near to the sea has much better view.

Seahorse provides full board accommodation and operates scuba dives and snorkel trips around Mabul. Like for half a dozen other operators, the facilities lie on the southwest side of the island and are made of wood, standing on poles above the water. And like most other operators, Seahorse offers dive trips to Sipadan, but doesn't go there. Instead they forward people to other operators who are actually allowed to go there.

Pros:
The facilities are very clean, with a standard better than simple (but certainly below luxury).
Food is served as well prepared buffet with choices - simple but tasty Malay meals.
The platform is a nice spot to hang around and to jump into the water.
They provide scuba equipment in a good condition.

Cons:
Big groups of chinese dive beginners are hosted here. This makes Seahorse an absolute no-no. Here is why:
Since only one boat is going out for diving/snorkeling, you stick to the group of beginners. Hence you are likely to visit only dive sites which are good for beginners (shallow sites without the need to see the exceptional stuff). For example, unlike others operators, Seahorse does not visit sites around the near by island Kapalai. My suggestion to go out with a second boat was declined.
And yes, these groups invade the space. They tend to be very loud, siege the facilities and are voracious at the buffet. No fun.

Some other facts which might distract you are paper-thin walls between the rooms, a shaky ground which lets you know someone steps by and what's going on in the next room, noisy compressor at daytime and salty tap water (rumor has it other places have salty water as well since they use groundwater).
On low tide all the water around the spot is gone, so no swimming is possible and the captain of the boat struggles to move out and in.
As confirmed by the staff, Hotlink/Maxis mobile network is working poor here, but it's great if you step out the gate. And WIFI? I think not...

Don't get trickd with Sipadan diving permits.
If you want to dive around Sipadad, you have to book one of the limited permits. When you arrive without a booked permit, they can tell you that there's a permit available, but only in a few days, so you have to stay here longer to wait for that day, when you book it. You better just come here and ask several operators around for a permit within the next days. It worked out for other travelers very well and they got there permit “surprisingly” for the next day, although I booked the “only available permit” earlier ahead.
