My wife and I have just had what I can only describe as the best holiday of our life so far. The hotel was plush, the staff we were attentive, friendly and very welcoming with guests, nothing was too much trouble for them. The rooms were excellent and to a high standard, the views from the balconies, terraces and pool areas were breathtaking. The food was to a high standard and there was an abundance of every dish.

I have travelled extensively during my time in the Pharma Industry and stayed at many top hotels and resorts, but the Sensimar resort and spa in Agia Pelagia was amongst the very best and I will be returning there next year.

Just back from the resort, will look back on the holiday with great fondness.
The views from the hotel were like those from a picture profile, very impressive and great just to chill while at the side of the pool.

Room
Had expected the worst when thomson sent a letter clarrifying the hotel was 4*.
Room was excellent, having stayed at other 5* all inclusive before had experienced a wide standard. while not the best it is up there. we were lucky enough to be upgraded with a sharing pool, the hotel has a large number of these type of rooms and they are superb and well maintained

Food
Buffet style, with a contant core of food for breakfast, lunch and dinner with plenty of Option. For example depending on your taste a grill where you can have a kebab of fish cooked to order, a salad bar plus a salad station where you could have a salad freshly cut and mixed to your taste and a pasta station where you could a ariabata or cabaonara with the ingresdients of your choosing. Every day had a different theme and this changed the style of food. Overall was excellent, too good judging on how tight my trousers have become

Drink

Excellent, cocktails and drink were all made to order and were nice and refreshing. the pool side bar again was great. One note is the bar tenders in the main bar have a queue each rarther then the uk style wait for a space at the bar so queue and get served simple
Having previously been with rui and atlantica resort this has previously been a problem with drink beeing either of a poor quality or blatently watered down, this was no the case at the sansimar.

Location
stunning views, quient little beach with taverns a 5 min walk away. But after this you are quite isolated, this is a pro or con depending on what you want to do on holiday. For 7 nights relaxing was bliss, but if you want a more lively holiday maybe not for you.

If you fancy a relaxing break would reccomend, not ideal if you have kids as is quiet!

I am well travlled, but was sold a 5 star package, and took it at face value. It does tick all the boxes but at 2 star level. It is set in the 80's and was the most disapointing holiday I have taken in years. Not 5 star rooms and set in a concrete block, service zero from reception to bar to restaurant . Pool side filthy sun beds, and no one clears mess from 10 am. Although all incusive, the drinks are so bad, you have to go for bought drinks. I took 2 days out at the 5 star Royal Heights (which is fabulous) just to survive! Cancel if you can!

A family trip, with 2 young children under 6. It was an early season trip with the entertainment side sorting out a few issues (the hotel owners clearly listed to suggestions from the entertainers and made quick changes).

Our room was absolutely superb, with great views, adequate space and with the re-filling of the mini bar every 2 days allowed some quiet time away from the busier pool. Our room benefitted from a private pool, which was a great bonus.

The quality and quantity of the food both in the restaurants and the pool bars could not be faulted. The all inclusive nature of the restaurant allowed the 2 children to try different food types and styles. This coupled with a different theme every night meant that you did not get bored eating the same thing. Breakfast was a delight.

The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff could not be faulted.

Our only slight concern was that there was a alck of entertainment of the really young children and that the mini disco started at 9, which may have been a little late for some of the younger ones. But that did not detract from the overall quality of the hotel.

Having 2 pools on different levels allowed those seeking a relaxing holiday to use the lower pool and be separated from the the sportier types or those with children who used the uppoer pool. Whilst we did not use the fitness centre or the tennis courts, they appeared on good condition.

We stayed at the sensimar at the begining of may and it was our first holiday with our young child who was 6 months at the time. The hotel staff were so helpful nothing was to much trouble this went from cleaners to managment level every 1 had a sinsear smile. The top pool was beautiful with amazing views and food served though out the day. The main resturant was great, fresh and clean with a wide varity of food for every 1 even a fussy eater like me. The only 2 faults where it is abit isolated so really you need to hire a car to get around however the rates are very reasonable it worked out to 80 euros for 3 days on a family saloon car wiv baby seat. the second is that they do not change money at the hotel but again is a minor issue as there is a bank in the town which is a 2 minute drive away. on a whole we could not knock this hotel and would definatly go back again.
