We went to Restaurant El Far for Garoinada festival and it was a great experience. We didnt stay at the hotel so I cant comment on that but the restaurant is great. Make reservations well in advance and ensure to request for terrace seating as you are then overlooking the sea. The view is beautiful and the food is great! The service is okay but they can be a little slow sometimes and dont take customizations and side dish requests too well.
The area around the hotel/restaurant is quite beautiful for a walk or a hike.
We tried the sea urchins which were great - a little small but we tried two dozen so they were quite good....
We also tried the fish of the day - was fresh and well cooked...
We also tried the fried sardines - most of the seafood was fresh and great...
Definitely recommend for a nice sunny seafood lunch!

Stopped here for lunch on a day out walking from Begur to Callella. So we arrived ready for some food and drink.
The tapas did not disappoint, the prawns where great. (Maybe a little pricey but expected seeing the location and hotel quality).
Good staff and service.

Stayed here for two nights. Had a lovely room with its own terrace. Welcome at the reception, which is actually in the restaurant was a little patchy. Not that great. Had dinner in the restaurant the first night which was lovely. Stunning views, good service. The fresh bread and tomatoes which came automatically was very good. Everything was good, the shoulder of lamb was very tasty and the White chocolate desert was excellent. Breakfast is very good too. Croissants, tomato bread, cheese, meats, jams, fresh fruit and yoghurts. All served at your table. Wanted to go into Llafranc for dinner the next night which proved more difficult. The hotel does not run a shuttle bus and the local buses stop running early evening. Taxis are around 18 euros each way which is expensive. Got the bus down and a taxi back which made it a fairly expensive evening. The hotel needs to consider having its own shuttle bus service. The pool and facilities at the sister hotel at Torrent are stunning! Lovely large pool with plenty of sunbeds.

Room Tip: Room with terrace had stunning sea view!

We first ate at El Far over 10 years ago and returned a couple of days ago with our now 8 year old daughter. The location is simply stunning - it is wonderful to sit on either the terrace or the covered eating area and watch the sun go down and the lighthouse's beam flood the sky.

Food was very good - we ate jabugo ham and a cherry gazpacho for starters; the latter was excellent - the jabugo possibly not the absolute best and also (and perhaps not something to be negative about!) a very generous portion that could have been happily shared. Our main course was a shared 'grilled rice' - a very rich paella with Catalan sausage and Palamo prawns. Our daughter had cannelloni from the small, but adequate kids' menu - it was OK - a little bland perhaps.

We shared a chocolate fondue (daughter's choice!) and an excellent crema de caramel for puddings. All in all, a lovely meal. Our only criticism would be the waitress's lack of welcome; a little grumpy, a little rushed and a little dismissive of the details - e.g. topping up wine, water and then big bothering to give daughter a pudding menu. Just little things, though - and still somewhere very memorable.
