First impressions externally weren’t good, the car park needs resurfacing and general appearance of the hotel is dull. BUT on entering it’s a different story. Spotlessly clean, even the glasses sparkled. A good sized room, very good shower, nice big towels and a comfy bed. We had dinner in the restaurant and were impressed with the food. The cheese soufflé for our starter was delicious. Staff were very friendly and efficient, the whole meal was superb. The only disappointment was the Spa, which was fully booked. The hotel was quiet so I assume it’s outsiders that are using it so next time we will call well before we are coming.

When we arrived I was underwhelmed by the external appearance and the car park looked a bit desolate. Inside however was a different story and the whole place was beautifully presented and immaculate. The room again was first class and very comfortable. We had dinner in the restaurant and couldn’t fault the food. The cheese soufflé was the best we have tasted anywhere. Breakfast was equally good and the staff were all very efficient and courteous. The only criticism we had was that we couldn’t get booked into the spa during our stay. A great place to stay and we’ll definitely use it again.

Having stayed at the George Albert on several occasions over the last few years the standards are good, in the summer months the air conditioning is very welcome. The rooms are a good size, well appointed, comfortable beds with seating and a table and a good sized en suite bathroom. Cleanliness has always been high and the rooms kept tidy. Breakfast is comprehensive with a good selection of cereals, fruit, breads and a good cooked full English. In the height of the summer Dorset is very popular and smaller hotels tend to be booked well in advance, I have always been able to get a room at the George Albert and happy to repeat visit. I have not used the dining facilities outside of breakfast.

Two of us stayed at the hotel for two nights at the end of August. The rooms were spacious and clean, and had pretty much everything you'd want in them (the only helpful extra would have been an iron). As somewhere to sleep the rooms were pretty much perfect, and the location good for our stay just off one of the main roads (we did a bit of exploring around Dorchester and Weymouth, as well as a walk around Cerne Abbas, none of which was very far away). We ate in the restaurant one evening, and I was surprised by how quiet it was given the food was really great - the chocolate torte was one of the best deserts I've had in a while, and the whole meal wasn't really lovely, and the price felt about right. The only down side we experienced was that when we went to book treatments in the spa, no one was available to talk to us, and a promise to call our room that evening to book something in wasn't kept. We did look around the spa however, and it did look very nice.

Came here with my girlfriend on 1st September and just wanted to say the spa facilities, treatment and the afternoon tea were all simply superb, words couldn’t do it justice. Thanks to all the staff for making me and my girlfriend feel so welcome. We will be back!
