I would definately recommend this cottage. It was spacious, spotlessly clean with plenty of room and in a fantastic area, only a short car journey to Mallaig. Only downside is that older people may struggle slightly with the slope up to the cottage and the walk in shower cubicle as it isn't very big and has no handles to hold on to. Overall though we had a fantastic holiday and enjoyed trips to Fort William, Oban and the Isle of Skye where we took the 2 hour boat trip to see the Golden Eagles and Seals.

We enjoyed a lovely stay in this fabulously renovated and extended cottage. It enjoys a quiet location with nice views and yet is only one mile away from Mallaig. It was spotlessly clean, warm; tastefully decorated and fully equipped with everything that could be needed. The owner, Theresa, was very friendly, helpful and welcoming. There is no internet at the property but that was a blessing to be 'away from it all' ! The railway line passes close by to the property but there are only a few trains each day and caused no disturbance to us at all; it was quite a novelty. We shall be very happy and look forward to making a return visit to this property and would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone wanting somewhere really nice to stay in this great part of Scotland.

“Lovely house, very friendly village and property owner”

The house is in a secluded, peaceful setting around 1 mile from Mallaig. Theresa, the owner, was very helpful and friendly, and the people (and pubs/hotel) of Mallaig were very welcoming. The rental is well furnished and spacious and spotlessly clean. There are some magical places to visit from Mallaig. We particularly enjoyed the peace and beauty of Knoydart and Rum (easy and very scenic ferry journeys) and a train journey to glenfinnan and the loch nearby, as well as the Morar Higlands Games. The house is a great place to go for a peaceful and comfortable break, and the area is breathtakingly beautiful.

We had a brilliant time staying at Ardchoille Croft last week. Theresa and Don were very helpful and friendly. The house was extremely comfortable and clean. The Steam Train passing the house was a bonus. The upper walk to Mallaig has some beautiful views, the lower walk by the main road is flat and takes no time at all and also has the views. Eigg, Rum, Knoydart, Morar, Arisaig are all well worth visiting. The Tearoom in Inverie serves lovely food. Trudi, the Wildlife Ranger on Rum was very welcoming and informative about the island. The Mallaig circular walk passes the house, up the hill towards Loch an Nostarie. On a clear day you get beautiful views over Knoydart, Skye, the Small Isles and Mallaig itself. We took the Western Isles ferry to Knoydart, paid the extra for an extended cruise on Loch Nevis to Tarbet, which also included a visit to a seal island, well worth it, if just to see how they manage the Tarbet deliveries (from our boat to another, then another!!) The Chalchain Inn serves delicious food, the staff were very friendly, and it has wifi. We had a tasty breakfat at the Mission Cafe. All in all a lovely holiday. Everyone we met was very friendly and helpful.
