Very nice, cottage-like setting from which to begin or end a visit to Cape Breton! Owner is very charming and is a great source of information about CB - most of which has been gained from her personal experience in the National Park and the surrounding area. The room and common areas were very clean and bright. FYI - there is an ATM within a 2 minute walk in case you need one - owner does not accept credit cards or $US!

Judy is a fabulous host, happy to chat or give privacy. The house is full of character, beautifully decorated and super clean. Judy serves a great breakfast, even asking how strong we preferred our coffee. If you are in Port Hawkesbury, this is the place to stay.

In Port Hawkesbury for only a night, we were pleasantly surprised by this easy-to-find, convenient character home. The room was well appointed and comfortable, with a large bathroom beside. Great breakfast to order. Host Judy was warm and engaging. To top it off, the price was excellent! Definitely recommend.

We stayed at this bed and breakfast in august after trying two other B&B on the island + one hotel and we simply loved it. The owner was very accomodating and the rooms were comfortable and CLEAN ! I'm keeping this address for next time. We were staying at the Maritime Inn the night before and I regretted not staying both nights at the Gagnon House. The house is decorated with taste.

This was our first visit to a bed and breakfast. Judy and Darryl were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great. Gagnon house is situated close to the port. An easy walk down the hill. I would recommend staying here.
