I recently enjoyed a nice 3 days at this resort for mostly pleasure and little bit of work. We stayed in a cabin which had a nice cozy cottage feel and the most beautiful view of the Ocean as soon as you open the door. The ocean water looked a bit cool so enjoyed soaking in the sun and nice warm water of the pool. It felt like a tropical vacation.

Every staff member I encountered was very friendly… a true maritime welcoming feel. They all seem to take pride in their work and enjoyed talking to the guests. The restaurant service was excellent. One of the servers, Jane, sticks out of my mind as one of the best servers I’ve had. On top of her amazing service, the food and drinks were delicious.

I had the chance to try many of the dishes on the menu, I would highly recommend the lobster and prawn roll. It was one of the best that I had. It wasn’t filled with just mayo and lettuce like many places… there was lots of delicious seafood. The fish tacos were also delicious but if you don’t like spicy, get the sauce on the side. Oh, and the coffee…I was pleasantly surprised how good their coffee was.

I only wish that I had a chance to try out the golf course…maybe next time It was a bit hot for golf anyhow so glad we had AC to get out of the heat. If I have the chance, I will definitely be back.

Rodd Brudenell is one of the most beautiful hotels in PEI. We stayed in one of the cottages they have on the grounds & everything was as expected (even my dog Ziggy was happy & that’s hard to do!) :) Clean, friendly staff, excellent food at the Club 19 restaurant (try the bourbon ribs, they’re AMAZING!) and incredible view of the rolling hills of the golf course. A must for any vacationer!

Room Tip: Cottages are great for your four-legged friend

This hotel is a nice place in a beautiful location. If the hotel hadn't claimed to be 4 star the rating would have been much higher... but if you claim to be a 4 star, you'll be reviewed as one.
Beautiful grounds overlooking the river and golf course are astounding. Staff were professional and polite for the most part. They had a doorman during limited times of the day (at check in time) this person ignored everyone leaving to hotel and just cared about people pulling up.
Rooms have wonderful balconies but for the most part are outdated. Carpets are old and stained. Bathrooms are definitely old and in separate need of upgrading.
Room service was NOT offered and bar and restuarant were not open at any point in the last 3 days. Only food available was from the attached golf course with pub offerings. Pool bar was never open despite being a summer weekend.
Hotel is actually a very nice 2 star facility or a very poor 4 star resort.

The hotel forms part of a golf resort on expansive landscaped grounds, a charming and peaceful setting. The restaurant is located a short walk (uphill) from the main lodge, which is problematic in inclement weather or for those with limited walking ability. The hotel provides transportation in these instances. The hotel is attractive but is reminiscent of 1980's without updates. Furniture in the room is scratched and worn from years of use, though carpeting and drapes are in good condition. Room has forced air heat which appears to be recirculated room air, but windows do open for fresh air. No air conditioning was apparent. Room had refrigerator and microwave and was quite spacious. Lighting was fair. Hotel is open seasonally May-Oct.
The hotel is in a quiet location with no traffic noise as the main highway is some distance away. Room was clean, and staff was friendly and accommodating.

Eastern PEI is often overlooked in favour of popular north shore spots like Cavendish. That's too bad because this is the best of PEI in one area. Golfing, biking, beaches, seafood, sailing.
The Brudenell Resort offers two great golf courses, waterside views, horse riding, nice pool, kayaking.
This hotel is every bit as beautiful outside as the photos indicate. Outside. The downside is inside. This is a seasonal facility and as a result upgrades haven't been done to haul the rooms out of the 1980's. Floral carpets, dated décor, aged furniture. They're comfortable enough but lack modern expectations. Hard to read thermostats, no room service. But hey, how much time are you really going to spend inside?
