I spent 5 days at the Mangrove Inn, this is one of my best spot. I was in the Mangrove suite and the bathroom is what I would love to have home. Place is ULTRA clean, Winston the owner is always checking if you need something. The room is comfortable, andthe view is what you can call in real estate location, location, location. Whenyou go to the balcony onthe second floor, you can see theocean and themountains, I can'tt believe I left.

When I arrived there was a basket of fruits waiting for me and a jug of coco water in the fridge. The place is quiet and more importantly safe, you can walk in the streetseven at 11PM safely not fearing for yourself.

The hotel is a 2 miniutes walk to supermarket and restaurants. The barber shop only charges 15$EC which is about 6$US for hair cut and shaving.

Local fruits are fresh form the day anddelicious.

I'm trying to find a negative thing and the only one I find is that I niss Dominica and its only been three days since I left.

I will be back for a longerstay,Ievenconsider buying a house in Calibishie.

Keep up the good work Winston you are on the path of a huge success

Room Tip: Ask for the walking tour of Calibishie

It was an excellent stay in Calabishie, Dominica. The Nixon's Inn is very clean, comfortable and conveniently located (close to a supermarket, ocean, minibus stop and restaurant) . The tropical garden at Nixon's Inn is beautiful. The owner is very kind and helpful. In my opinion it is one of the best places to stay in Calabishie.

If you are going to Dominica you should not miss to spend some days in Calibishie. This village and of course the Nixon's place is a real stress killer. A very nice and comfortable accommodation
at the bayside. Mr. Nixon can give you any information about the things and tours to do. Also one of the most beautiful beaches (Batibu Beach) is located nearby and gives you a perfect caribean impression. A lot of nice and friendly places to eat and drink are just a step away like Sandbar or Rainbow. Don't miss to try Dominican breakfast at Coral Reef. I'll come back for sure....

The brothers Winston and Nixon and their parents are running a spotless and charming private guesthouse just of a small bay, mostly used by the local fishermen. Calibishie is a very charming town that you will find yourself reluctant to move from. Nixons Bay Inn has a very nice porch, vicinity of all you need in Calibishie and a good, hard-working owner that will set you up with whatever you need. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a getaway from what ever they are doing, and needs to settle down in a place where you can pick you own coconuts and grapes right of the trees.

Calibishie is arguably one of the best spots to stay on the Island if you're interested in the best beach's on Island. The Carib Territory and the Central Forest Reserve rainforest are within a 30 minute drive or bus ride. The Mt. Dioblotin trailhead at Syndicate, the second highest peak in the Caribbean, is just an hour drive. Syndicate is at about 1900 ft in citrus orchards and a great place to watch the native parrots as they feast on the fruit. Take a slow walk on the road through the orchard at mid morning or late afternoon and you're likely to see several. The Diablotin hike to 4747 ft is a bear so beware , only the very fit should attempt the climb. Another moderate mile long trail at the end of the road is a better bet if you want to experience the forest. Point Baptist Beach is very nice and a short walk from the Village, and Batibou, reputed as the nicest beach on the Island, is only a few miles away. As you may gather I love this part of the Island.

Mangrove Inn is a nice place to stay with a well equipped kitchen and porch overlooking the Atlantic. Winston Nixon, the owner, is knowledgeable of the area and will go out of his way to
meet your needs. The Inn is right in the Village so you can walk to the restaurants, store and bars but it sits back off the road enough to provide a bit of privacy. It's also right where the fisherman come in from their daily outing with boat loads of mahi mahi and other fresh catch of the day.

Room Tip: Downstairs is nice with a stand alone porch overlooking the ocean but the upstairs faces the sea and has a better view.
