This is a small yet pleasant inn with an awesome view of the ocean in the back. It is in a residential area of Luquillo and definitely has a small town feel to it. The ocean is literally behind the breakfast area of the hotel and a small outdoor patio adjoins it as well. The rooms are small and basic with no frills but we had comfortable beds and hot water in the bath, which is all we needed. Free breakfast was quite good with a brief choice of hot items like scrambled eggs and toast, pancakes or egg and cheese with ham sandwiches (all are made to order) plus juice/coffee/tea. The owner was there every morning to serve guests and oversee the breakfast/desk staff. Felt very much at home here and got to know a few other travelers; hence it felt more like a B&B than a hotel. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a reasonably priced hotel with great service and excellent access to the nearby beaches as well as El Yunque rainforest. William at the front desk was very helpful in particular with tips on local restaurants, the food kiosks in Luquillo, ferry service from Fajardo, nearby beaches etc. I would definitely consider staying at this hotel again during a future trip to Puerto Rico.

Room Tip: Ocean view would be awesome! And you will definitely hear the ocean waves vividly at night if you get a room towards the back of the hotel (even those without a view). It did not bother our sleep at all but it may help to be aware so that you are prepared.

We loved it here! We stayed for 8 nights in the suite facing the beach. The staff is friendly, especially William. Very helpful and informative. The place is clean, the location is great. It is not fancy, but we just wanted a great view and a great location and we got both at Yunque Mar. When we come back to Puerto Rico, we will absolutely book here again. The room was comfortable for us and our three teenage kids. Breakfast was simple, but fine; again, nothing fancy.

Room Tip: The suites on the second floor have the best view. They are the only rooms where the balcony is parallel to and facing the beach.

Just took advantage of their $75 special, it's hard to beat that price for a decent beachfront hotel in Puerto Rico. Rooms are nice and clean. Breakfast was good. Nothing too fancy but still an excellent choice for this side of the island.

My girfriend and I stayed here for two nights - everything was just as expected, the hotel is very clean and well located right on the beach. Breakfast wasn't good, however. We skipped it the next day. Good value for money.

We found this hotel through Trip Advisor and were very pleased with it. We thought it was was of good value, very clean and the location fit in well with our plans. We had a large queen sized bed in a well kept comfortable room. The staff was all enthusiastic, helpful and friendly. The hotel is very pretty and welcoming ,there is a parking lot across the street so parking was hassle free and included.
The hotel is right on the beach making both early morning and evening swims and walks very enjoyable. The water was very clear and clean closer to luquillo there were some unattended lots and debris on the beach but it was easy to walk around this , this area was quite a distance from the hotel. There was a back porch right off the beach and an enclosed room with a bar next to it both double as breakfast rooms. At night it was relaxing to listen to the ocean enjoy the evening breeze and the companionship of other guests. The breakfast was made and served by a pleasant couple. We only ate breakfast at the hotel but other guests had light meals and snacks prepared for them which they enjoyed and reported were very tasty. As other reviewers have reported the hotel is in a residential area , there are no sidewalks and the streets are narrow and dark making it hard to walk around at night , but fine to do so during the day. We were about a 10 minute walk along the beach away from Luquillo Beach, where all of the kisoks are located. By car this is a a quick drive, note that all of the kiosks are not open weekdays . We enjoyed the food at many including Conga and one whose name I don't remember that had local beers on draft such as Santo Viego a refreshing stout. El Yunque Rainforest was a short car ride away so close that we went to El Yunque two days in a row -the second day just to swim and enjoy Mina Falls. Sandra was great she helped with directions and tips for getting around. I hope you enjoy your stay as much as I did!
.

Room Tip: Our room was poolside with a small terrace
