“A great place to stay”
Reviewed 23 September 2017 for a stay in September 2017

We just got back from a stay in this cottage and we loved it. Powburn is quiet and set in beautiful countryside. The cottage was nicely done up, clean and warm. The beds were comfy and we had our own parking space. Matt the owner was really friendly and helpful. We stayed with our young children and the cottage was perfect for them – it had a highchair, it was uncluttered and there was a play area just around the corner. We had dinner one night at the pub in Eglingham and there was a stunning view of the sunset over the Cheviots on our drive back down to Powburn. We are already planning our return to this lovely part of the world – there is so much to see and do close by!

Powburn is a very quiet little village in a perfect position for getting around North Northumberland & up into the English/Scottish Borders.

The cottage is lovely, very comfortable & warm with everything you need.

“Powburn with toddlers”
Reviewed 14 August 2017 for a stay in August 2017

We very much enjoyed our recent stay in Powburn with our two small children. The house was perfect for our needs, being spotlessly clean and recently redecorated. The village is well situated for a number of activities in Northumberland and we did trips to Alnwick, Cragside and the narrow gauge railway at Ford and Etal. Drive time was never more than about 20-25 minutes. An unexpected bonus was the village playground just around the corner which the children loved. We would certainly stay again.

One minor suggestion would be to add a vegetable peeler to the kitchen implements.

“Little Gem in Northumbria.”
Reviewed 10 July 2017 for a stay in July 2017

Have just returned from a week's holiday with my daughter in this delightful cottage in Powburn. We were met by a very welcoming owner and his partner. The cottage was spotlessly clean throughout with most decoration and fittings looking very recent.
We had a wonderful week in the area and looked forward to returning to 'our little Cottage' every evening.
Can't recommend this .little place highly enough.
Thank you.

A cosy and comfortable renovated cottage, full of character and charm that was perfect for a midweek break with my husband and 2 children. Beautiful location, handy for the Northumberland coast and Alnwick castle. Matt and Lindsey gave us a warm welcome and were very helpful. The cottage was immaculate and we enjoyed the board games and videos on offer. Would highly recommend this property.
