Unfortunately we spend here skiing time during the spring season so the snow quality wasn’t so good. But I consider it as a nice small skiing resort

Great ski area, you can stick to easy lanes or get some great views from the higher red and black areas, ski al the way down or stay up. Plenty eating possibilities from big and loud to small and Austrian wood style. Big childrens area and a lot of parties or live music if you like that kind of thing.

The ski resort is not huge, but perfect for beginners and intermediate skiers and snowboarders. We were there in January 2017 and had fantastic weather and amazing snow.

It's easy to get there from Nauders: you can either walk or take the free ski bus that runs every ten minutes. The new ski station at the bottom is very modern and has great lockers that fit my husband's skis, my snowboard, our boots, helmets, gloves etc.

There are a good number of restaurants in the area as well: Bergkastel right at the end point of the gondola, which has both a self-serve restaurant and an Italian restaurant; Goldseehütte, which was never really in the sun when we went there, but is cosy inside and has a great Knödel menu; Lärchenalm, which gets plenty of sun in the late morning and into the late afternoon; and Stieralm, which is the fanciest of the restaurants (although still not very expensive), and where you can have a drink in the sun in the afternoon before your last run.

We very much hope to be back!

The Bergkastel ski arena is not very large, but even as an experienced skier I like it quite well. The slopes are always well prepared and you can find runs for every level. There are also some very good restaurants which are good for food and drinks. My recommendations are the Goldseehütte, the Lärchenalm and the new Stierenalm. There is also the option to visit with the same ski pass two smaller ski resorts in Italy (Heideralm and Schöneben). A public bus brings you there in a few minutes. One of my favorites in Schöneben is the black downhill to the "Rojer Schihütte".
