Although the hotel is attractive and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. The service in the restaurant, both at breakfast and dinner, is disappointing, especially given the prestige of the chef and cuisine.
The restaurant serves beautiful and flavoursome haute cuisine but is let down by poor service and a wine list aimed at label-drinkers with deep pockets. Most of the red wines on the list are far too young to drink and those that are cost well over 200€.
The wine service was poor. We were given dirty glasses and when we asked for them to be changed, the "sommelier" said it was normal to have stains on wine glasses!
The wine waiter was not attentive, so we had to get the bottle and serve ourselves when our glasses were empty. On returning, he seemed annoyed that we had done that, so, without asking, poured the remains of the bottle, including all the sediment, into our glasses.
Towards the end of the meal, the servers disappeared. They forgot our teas and coffees but then rushed them out when we said we no longer wanted them, after waiting 20 minutes. We never got the bill, despite asking twice, and had to put it on our room.
Breakfast was a bit of a let-down too. There is not a great choice from the buffet. No prepared fruit or vegetables for example. Service was down to one guy which meant the juices ran out and guests were left waiting for tea and coffee. You can order cooked eggs but they took ages to prepare.
