Very clean and and large family apartment with a spacious living room, a small kitchenette and separate large bedroom. Comfortable balcony with a view and parking space right outside the apartment, very convenient.
Pool area with a large clean pool and a small kids pool. Very polite and accommodating staff. Breakfast perfectly fine, with sufficient variety.
TV did not work, but we didn't mind. Wi-fi worked.
Worth mentioning that there were no mosquitoes or other bugs in our room and other areas of the hotel. Prior to visiting I was wary of this risk, based on previous reviews on Tripadvisor.
Overall, excellent value for money.

We stayed a couple with two children (9 +12) for 3 nights in a family apartment, nice and clean with Aegean Sea view from every window in the apartment.
Location: Tsagkarada is very convenient village to be base for a trip charming Pelion beaches (Milopotamos and Fakistra), Pelion villages and nice hiking ways.
Structure: a small family hotel and cozy, relaxed atmosphere and pleasant. Tasty breakfast served for the guests and small nice swimming pool.

We stayed at Aglaida for 10 days: the room was big and cleaned every day. The owners were kind to us and they satisfied all our needs. If we planned to go again to Pelion we would choose Tsagkarada and Aglaida for sure!

I stayed in Aglaida with my husband during the second week of August 2012.The comments about this hotel were extraordinary in tripadvisor and booking but after my stay there i am convinced that they were all written by the owners(or their relatives!)I will start with the positive aspects which are only two.The rooms are big and the view is wonderful. However, the rest was a big dissapointment.
First of all the room was full of dust and our balcony had spider webs and spiders.Despite the fact that we stayed for 6 days noone bothered to clean it.Our bed had ripped sheets on the third day and when we called the reception to ask that they change them they seemed annoyed and never apologised for it.Secondly,Pelion is famous for its traditional food like honey, marmelade and bread. But to our dismay we were served a mediocre breakfast with products you can find in any supermarket(!)It was not traditional and since i know good food i can tell you the cheese, ham and the sausages were the kind that can give you food poisoning. One day sausages were substituted by bacon but it was insufficient for all the guests and when i asked the waiter if they would bring out some more he said that it was finished.(and it was one hour before breakfast time ends!)Once again the breakfast room had dust on the fireplace and the windows. At this point i have to say that the waiter of the breakfast room was a very helpful and polite young man who did an excellent job serving, taking orders and refilling the buffet on his own.
Generally although me and my husband were very polite and didn't complain about anything we received a cold welcome from day one and when we left they didn't ask us if we were satisfied with our stay. They just gave us the invoice and said a cold "goodmorning".Honestly i have never felt so unwelcomed in any hotel or b&b i have been to.The atmosphere was miserable and i heard many customers complaining about breakfast, cleanliness&the owner's cold attitude.(so it wasn't just us being too demanding). On top of that the lobby seemed abandoned and although there were more that 50 people staying at Aglaida it seemed deserted after 9pm.The nice balcony at the lobby was always occupied by the owners after 10pm and we felt as if we had entered someone's house rather that the lobby and reception of a hotel. The lights were closed and there was noone at the reception or the bar.The swimming pool lights were closed and it felt as if you were in an abandoned building.Other negative points were the dirty swimming pool, the closed snack bar.(the hotel didn't serve any ice-creams or cold drinks-only coffee from the breakfast kitchen)The hotel is run by literally 5 people. Two women with general duties,a 12 year old boy as an evening waiter,a young man in the breakfast room and a man who was in charge of cleaning and fixing whatever was broken.
Overall the hotel was overpriced for what it offered and i wouldn't recommend it to anyone. We had friends who stayed in other guesthouses of the area at the same time and they were offered a lot more for less money.I am a frequent traveller and i can say with certainty that this is one of the worst hotels i have been to and i am really annoyed that they claim to give quality holiday to their guests as this is far from true.
