hard to find bc it is around the corner in a small strip of stores from an Italian restaurant facing the street. It was nice to find it open still at 7 or 8pm. The owners are maybe Greek, my hubby said. Ovi is a Greek name. Really bright orange and white ornately decorated inside. Felt like i was in a kitschy replica of a room in Versailles.
I don't remember what ice cream I had but it was just ok. Location was nice bc it was within walking distance from the Trim Castle which is lit at night.

This place was amazing!!!
The service was excellent.
The pizza was excellent.
The menus were excellent.
The location is excellent. (We walked to Trim Castle afterward. It's close to shopping and parking.)
The place and facilities were clean.
The ice cream? Worth the trip.
I was with a group of seven and all of our desserts were worth the hour detour for. I can't imagine going to Ireland again and not visiting.

OMG!! Twice now we have tried the delights of Ovi's extensive desert menu.

What a way to end a walk around Trim when you have earned a real treat!

Each desert is presented with flare and each contained in a different style glass bowl which just adds to the magic.

The Profiterole ice cream topped with a choux pastry swan was magnificent! Laced with chocolate sauce and custard ... my personal favourite ...so far!

The Mint Sundae was a mastery of 7 scoups of Mint Choc ice cream drizzled with After Eight sauce and topped with 3 After Eights!

The Tiramisu Sundae has subtly coffee flavour ice cream layered with cream and a chocolate & coffee flavoured syrup on top of a latte flavoured fudge. So many layers and all delicious topped with sponge fingers.

The Napolitan Sundae arrives in a tall glass with layers of chocolate, strawberry and vanilla ice cream, with cream and chocolate sauce between, build on a base of refreshing strawberry coulis!

The Rum & Raisin Sundae was sprinkled throughout with rum soaked raisins. Just as well someone else was driving ;-)

The Strawberry Sundae included the most magnificent Strawberry Sorbet I have ever tasted and the strawberry ice cream was creamy and intense. Topped with fresh strawberries it's a true taste of summer!

I have never seen a Kiwi Sundae before but wow it was magnificent! Kiwi ice cream drizzled with kiwi sauce and topped with sculpted fresh kiwi ... that one we have had to try twice!!

Finaly ...to date, we have added the Bannoffee Sunday with it's fresh banana, banana ice cream coated in toffee and chocolate sauces and topped with mixed nuts.

This is a hidden treasure in a wonderful town!

NOT TO BE MISSED it is accessed through the council car park or by parking on Finnegans Way in front of La Scala Italian Restaurant.

We will cretainly be back again and again and whilst they do much more than icecream with their pizzas, hot dogs and coffee it will be hard to distract our group form the main delight ... desert!

The deals at the moment make it especially sweet with three deserts for the price of two. Today we had a party of six but only paid for four deserts and the total bill came to only €26!!!

We have not yet worked our way through the whole menu and can see that we will have to revisit again and again to be sure we don't miss anything!

Well done Ovi!
