Good food, fresh pasta's and great meat!
The winecollection is something to deepdive into. In summer the garden is an oases of piece and a great place to spend all evening. In winter the open fire is the best place to watch: meat being grilled and its old fashion style makes you dream away and feel in your personal little heaven

Thank Eric E

Our first night in Tuscany and we had earmarked this restaurant based on previous T/A posts and was absolutely spot on. Everything was perfect. Simple but sublime pasta, great wine recommendation, beautiful garden setting, friendly waitstaff. Could not fault this restaurant. If you are driving, there is no parking next to the restaurant - you need to park down the hill in the 'public' carpark about 200m and then walk back up.

You will eat the best Bistecca alla Fiorentina to the bone! The service is perfect and the wine list extraordinary. Alittle bit expensive but it worths it! Please listen to their advice on how raw you should order your meat... They know! Do not miss the "dolce"!

This restaurant was recommended to us by a local bar owner and she was right, the food was outstanding, the ambience was great and the feel of the place (mostly locals coming for a huge to-share steak) was proper Tuscan.
The wine selection was outstanding, the service very good and the fresh, local food was worth its price. It's not cheap, but it doesn't advertise itself as such. If you are in Asciano, do visit. Most locals shared a Bistecca alla fiorentina, a huge Porterhouse steak, which was served rare to medium, after being chargrilled in a corner of the restaurant. It was literally mountains of beef. I wasn't very hungry, so I had Pick (traditional Tuscan pasta) with (the waiter called it black pig, which turned out to be) wild boar ragu, very tasty. My hubby had a filet steak, which was about the size of 2 filet steaks you'd get in a UK restaurant.
We had a bit of a giggle when we looked at the desert menu and my hubby chose 'decomposed tiramisu', which turned out to be deconstructed tiramisu, very very nice.
We got chatting (well, as far as our Italian and his English would allow) to a guy on the table next to us. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming in Tuscany.
Brilliant restaurant visit, we hope you enjoy it as much as we did.
