I chose Serrambi resort because of the raving reviews abut it’s private beach and tranquility. I was not disappointed at ALL. The resort is located some 20 minutes away from the bustling Porto de Galinhas center and equipped with all the amenities one would need to be comfortable (beautiful layout, good food, attentive staff, leisure activities, massages, game room, etc). Getting a transportation service was a bit more expensive (I went through Luck Travel Services and paid 188 Reais in total) but so so worth it. The hotel has a large pool area, beach chairs and elevated beach/table pool areas with a basic menu for drinks and other foods. Around the resort there are beautiful parrots and at nighttime there’s always family friendly entertainment after an amazingly diverse dinner buffet.
The downsides to the hotel are that they are oddly strict with rules- no outside beverages or food as well as don’t actually offer more than the bare minimum in rooms (just shampoo, conditioner and soap- a small toothpaste, shower cap and lotion would really make all the difference). Because it is so isolated, the tab can add up quick. Beverages are only included at breakfast and there isn’t any water in the gym so I found myself spending a lot more on water than intended. However, the staff was wonderful and went above and beyond to make my stay pleasant and meet my odd requests of banana peels to relieve mosquito bite irritation.
One tip for future guests- check out the tourism agency in the back of the hotel near the gym. The beaches are a lot smoother and prices significantly lower than the desk at the front. I did scuba diving and wind surfing and had lots of individualized attention with the instructors. I hope to be back! I had an awesome time!
