What a wonderful hotel! Famiilies will feel right at home in this modern, well situated family hotel, which provides something for every single family member.

We had an excellent time here in February 2016 when we (from Switzerland) met for a week of skiing with our friends from USA. We had searched for a hotel with a seemingly long and impossible combination list of criteria to fulfil:
-the skiers wanted good accessibility to the slopes and sauna/steam room for après-ski
-the non-skiers wanted a gym, pool, and massage/spa to pass the time while the skiers were away
-the kids needed separate sleeping facilities and wanted activities/a play room for after hours
All of our needs were satisfied at the St. Laurentius.

Arrival: We were met at the door by a staff member who told us where to park, helped us with our bags, and showed us to the reception (not so easy to find since it is through a long corridor and up an elevator). During our stay, the staff took it upon themselves to clean the car windshields of all the guests—a very much appreciated gesture.

Rooms: We booked and stayed in a St. Laurentius suite. The room was spacious, renovated, and clean. The rooms were assigned prior to our arrival and the staff had (without our saying so) courteously booked us closed to our friends. The St. Laurentius suite had a cute separate children’s room with a bunk bed. There were complimentary stuffed animals (the Laurentius star and the Smiley character) on the beds for the children. I have never been so impressed with the creativity of the housekeeping. Every day our beds and towels were folded in a different attractive pattern—heart, bows, tulips, pinwheels, etc.

Food: The creativity of the kitchen--both in presentation and in variety is to be commended. The food was all delicious. Every morning there was a substantial breakfast buffet with everything anyone could possibly want, from sausage and eggs to custom prepared omelets to fresh fruit, yogurt, and muesli to fresh baked goods with a variety of cheeses, jams, cold cuts and fresh honey (with honeycomb).
There was a minimal lunch (most people were skiing) and a more substantial afternoon snack.
Dinners were also delicious with a variety of choices for each course. The kitchen was very motivated, and there was an elaborate 8-course gala dinner on Monday, a huge starter buffet on Wednesday, and a dessert buffet on Friday. We felt a bit overwhelmed by all the food and thought the dinner concept was more appropriate for a luxury hotel than for a hotel for parents with children who need to go to bed. (Dinner sometimes lasted as long as 2-2.5 hours.) However, the food itself was first-rate in terms of taste, variety, and presentation. There was a children’s buffet with child-friendly dishes, which they could eat either at the parents’ table or with other children in the separate, supervised children’s dining room.
The servers were very attentive and courteous—after a day or two, our repeated orders of a carafe of tap water and a bottle of mineral water—began to appear automatically at our table.

Facilities for skiers: Every room had an assigned ski locker in the ski room that was accessible with the room key card. There were heated, vented hooks for hanging and drying ski boots, gloves, and so on. Right outside the hotel, there was a short, 1-minute walk, where the skiers had access to a T lift, which took them to the main slope/cable cars etc. Ski passes were available at the reception. Ski rental is approximately a 5-minute walk away at the base of the cable cars.

Facilities for children: A huge unsupervised playroom with ball pool, climbing ropes, hobby horses, toy kitchen, games tables, PlayStations, Wii, Xbox, etc. as well as a large area for supervised activities. Our boys (9, 11) only participated in one of the animation activities, but there was plenty offered during the day and evening for the (<6) age group and in the evening for the 6+ age group.

Pool/Spa/Wellness: The children loved the heated indoor/outdoor pool and slide. We enjoyed a few restful moments in the adult-only spa and wellness area. There were two saunas (90°, 60°) and two steam rooms (aroma, no aroma), so there was something for everyone. I had two massages and a facial in the Barbararbad, both of which I enjoyed immensely. I appreciated that I did not even have to leave the building for these services.

Other: The reception was infinitely patient with our myriad of questions and offered electrical adapters for international guests and nightlights free of charge. Everyone spoke English. We took part in the Nordic walking class, discovered that we enjoyed it, and were able to borrow the poles (again, free of charge) at the reception.

Summary: All in all, a first-rate hotel with numerous facilities, enormous attention to detail, and outstanding hospitality. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: St. Laurentius Suite ist sehr geräumig.

This hotel is great when travelling with kids. Everything is geared towards children! From the play areas and the pool to the choice of food at the various meals, kids will simply love it!
Also the location in relation to the wintersport facilities (lifts, slopes) is great and leaves little to be desired. The friendliness of the staff is exemplary.
But you do have to love an elaborate meal at dinner, that might be perhaps the only downside for me for this hotel. Every evening you get to choose five courses for dinner. And while the quality of the food is absolutely great, after a few nights you start to long for someting more simple, like a schnitzel or a foundue or raclette, or something similar. However, in all fairness, you do have the choice not to take some of the courses.
Everything else is simply perfect, I can highly recommend the place for families with children!

No wifi in our room (16) - only in corridor of room (below tv) and bathroom.

Service personnel unprofessional (every second night plates & glasses fell on the floor while preparing the tables for the next morning). Employees walk with beer bottle after their shift through the hotel.

All inclusive does not include coffee & tea after 10.30 am as well as excludes all drinks taken together with the meals. I would expect a free all day coffee and tea station for a four star hotel. For example one bottle of water is charged 4,50-. We felt that the attention was given more to the PURCHASE of drinks during the dinner (therefore the lengthy 5-8 course meals). After a couple of days we asked to use a water carafe filled with water from the children's corner on our table.

Location of hotel: If you are a parent of a 3 to 7 yr old child who needs ski lessons the location of this Kinderhotel is really not the best. Go to find a hotel in SERFAUS instead (because in Serfaus up the main gondola is the children's ski land providing child drop off and ski right on for you!). In Fiss it takes 10 min walking up the hill and over a gras / snow field to the main gondola center with ski school center & then you need to stand in line for the yellow gondola which takes you parallel to the mountain to the little children's ski school (10 min ride). You drop of your child, need to go BACK with the yellow gondola to the main gondola center to stand in line AGAIN to take the gondola up the hill to go skiing: ski schools starting at 10am sharp you need to calculate approx 60 min in high season to the organization of ski school & drop off and be back to go ski yourself. No child pick up service nor shuttle service from hotel to gondolas.

Fiss does NOT restrict the amount of ski lift tickets given out (Lech for instance stops selling if overcrowded) which also made skiing not as enjoyable. We were there in a time with little snow and the ski slopes were seriously overcrowded.

Lifts of hotel overused making up for long waiting times ending in walking.

Adult-only pool not warm enough for my taste to be enjoyed.

Sauna not in function at 11 am. Had to request that they are put on. Never have seen anything like that in a four star hotel.

Our room did not stand up to four stars. Our Room 16 had the sofabed placed in between the windows overlooking the street. We wondered why our oldest crawled into our bed frozen at night but understood once my husband layed down in it to sleep. An air draft in between the windows made up for a cold sleep. I recommend the hotel owners to check for themselves.
Shower protection plastic was broken and not fixed prior to our arrival.

Child care:
BEWARE of plugs all over the play room uncovered. Before entering the attended child care room you cross the un-attended room (very very warm) which is filled with beautiful toys / tractors. I would recommend less plastic items to play with & NO electronic devices screwed on the wall and to make the attended child care room as beautiful OR to attend the pre-room with child care. Our little one preferred to play in the pre-room than to go to the attended child care room.

Dear NycElodie.

I’m afraid hearing that you haven’t enjoyed your stay at our hotel.

I want to make some statements to the points you mentioned.

At first, we have free WIFI in the whole hotel. I’m afraid, that the WIFI didn’t worked. If you would have mentioned this at the reception, we could have find a solution!

I think it is normal that every now and then a glass or a plate is getting broken. This is also happening to guests from time to time.

It is permitted by us that our employees can drink a bottle of beer or a glass of wine after a long working day. We do have a staff room for that, this room is behind the kitchen. We never had a complaint that they walked through the hotel (and we think that they don`t do it otherwise we will prohibit it).

We do NOT provide All Inclusive – this is written nowhere! We provide the „Laurentius Verwöhnpension“ – this includes breakfast, lunch buffet, afternoon snack buffet and dinner. The drinks are not inclusive! This is mentioned not only on our homepage but also on other homepages, it is also mentioned when we make an offer via mail (as you did) and also in our folders.

In the week you stayed at the hotel, the snow situation was very difficult! We had to less snow, that the beginners lift, 50 meters from the hotel haven’t worked. Normally you get to Bertas Kinderland (beginners area) in 10 Minutes! You can go back from Bertas Kinderland also by ski, you do not have to go back with the gondolas! With skis you are back in 2 minutes by the main gondolas!
I also would like to mention that it does not take 10 minutes from the main cable cars to Bertas Kinderland. It is less than 3 minutes.

We are not responsible for the decision that the ski resort didn’t make reduction because of less snow.

Our adult spool has 32 degrees, the same as the family pool - we think this temperature is perfect for everybody.

The sauna starts at 2p.m. – if you want to go earlier, please mention this at the reception 20 minutes before, than we will heat the sauna earlier, no problem!

Our hotel is a 4-Star Superior standard. All our rooms are checked up from a commission, otherwise you will not get the Superior standard! We do provide post-it notes in the room. If you find a damaged furniture or a light that is not working you can leave the post-it in the room and we will fix it. Another way would be if you come to the reception and tell us what is not fixed. I'm afraid that you find up a damaged plastic cabin - it is already changed.

All plugs in the hotel are children safe. The old system of child safety locks is not allowed in hotels anymore. We think that our child care room is good combination for younger and older kids (divided). We just had positive feedback after the renovation last year (especially for the electronic drawing tool and the multifunctional electronic game table).

Maybe you give us again the chance to convince you from our services!

Most of the amenities are well organized. Especially for kids from 3 years up there are plenty of toys. I am disappointed, because I had constantly the feeling that there were trying to make money out of everything. Even the coffee is not for free and you pay a good amount of money. The location might be 50m from the ski lifts, but this is uphill, making it very inconvenient, once you are carrying all the equipment. The ski school for children is far away, since you have to take a lift to get there. During high season it could take up to 45 min to reach the beginners school.
The stuff is in general ok. The food is good, but not sure if it is adequate for the price.
Not sure if I would come again.

Room Tip: New building. Old one is looking onto the street and noisy in the morning.

Enjoyed our stay very much! Travled with 2 small children (age 3 years and 9 month) and there was enough to play with for everybody. Great area indoor but just as great an area outdoor. Great Food but even greater Wine.
