We stayed in the apartment for two weeks and had a great time. The apartment itself is spacious, bright and clean. The kitchen is well equipped and the 3 balconies allow lots of outdoor space for relaxing in a beautiful setting. We had a great time and will no doubt book again in the future.
The apartment is in Bergamotto which is beautifully maintained. The swimming pool is large and was enjoyed everyday by my daughter, husband and our three grandchildren. The wifi never let them down.
The apartment accommodated them well. The three balconies are spacious with one overlooking the pool which has a large round table and a small barbecue.
It is situated in a great location. There is a restaurant you can walk to within minutes and you are equidistant from Gioiosa Jonica and Gioiosa Marina just a few minutes by car. There is a railway station in Gioiosa Marina if you feel like leaving the car behind. The beach is beautiful and there are other towns nearby.
All positive ....except for the fact that the main reason we picked this place was because it advertised WIFI and then being told it wasn't installed yet . We called the owner who said she would look into it and call us back which she didn't.
We needed wifi that week and so had to go to the added expense of buying a mifi.
We stayed at Bergamotto for a week again in April. This was our third stay and we just love it. It's real Italy at its best. Delicious food, excellent wine, laid back vibe, and for April really good weather. The locals are very friendly and helpful, and they don't charge tourist rates. And what is also a bonus - there is virtually no traffic on the roads so its really easy to get around and explore the region. Already planning our next trip!
We have stayed at Bergamotto twice (the time before was in July 2012) and we can't wait to go back again. The apartment is lovely - modern and spacious with all mod cons. The main balcony overlooks the pool and is fabulous for relaxing over a leisurely lunch or dinner. The pool never gets noisy and the guests are all very friendly. It looks beautiful at night all lit up. The old village of Gaiosa Ionica is a 5 minute drive away and you can get all the local produce at local prices. Lovely fresh food and reasonably priced good wine. There are numerous restaurants serving traditional Italian food. Just 10 minutes drive away is the new part of the town along the sea front. The sea is warm and calm in summer and the beaches are not overcrowded. Lots of nice bars and restaurants. It's not a Brits abroad type place as most of the holiday makers are Italian. You do need a car to get around but there is plenty of parking at the apartment. If you want to experience the real Italy this is the place for you.
