I've recently returned from staying at this hotel, and although i did check the reviews before we went, I made the mistake of discounting the awful reviews as people overreacting, ie being 'Karens', as I have never had to complain about somewhere I've stayed before (and I have stayed in some holes before!) Firstly, the good-ish points. The location is OK, not too far from the port where the nightlife is, there are some nice little beaches directly on either side, and restaurants immediately in both directions as soon as you walk onto the main road. The accommodation itself was very basic, (no fridge or anywhere to prepare or store any food) but it was clean and the beds were comfortable. That's all the good points I can mention. The BAD BITS - when we arrived, it was around 9pm, so when we were greeted by a miserable man on reception, we first brushed it off as we were so excited to just be there (and perhaps he was having a bad day?) Unfortunately this was NOT the case and our optimism was short lived. The next morning we got up for breakfast (which only has an hour and a half window!) but as we were starving we went. That was our 2nd red flag. We were fairly early for breakfast (9:30, breakfast was 9-10.30), but the food available only covered 1 small trestle table and consisted of: 3 baguettes,...I've recently returned from staying at this hotel, and although i did check the reviews before we went, I made the mistake of discounting the awful reviews as people overreacting, ie being 'Karens', as I have never had to complain about somewhere I've stayed before (and I have stayed in some holes before!) Unfortunately this was NOT the case and our optimism was short lived. The next morning we got up for breakfast (which only has an hour and a half window!) but as we were starving we went. That was our 2nd red flag. We were fairly early for breakfast (9:30, breakfast was 9-10.30), but the food available only covered 1 small trestle table and consisted of: 3 baguettes, a plate of cheese slices, a plate of ham slices, cold scrambled egg and cold cooked tomatoes. I was so disappointed as I had read on previous reviews that they used to provide fruit, pastries and full English breakfasts. I just had a coffee and an orange juice as there was really no choice at all. Hung around for a bit in case they were going to send some cooked food out, but they didn't. We left breakfast and had a look at the pool....which I can only describe as looking like some kind of green cesspit - the water was so opaque (and GREEN!) that you couldn't see to the bottom. There were no signs to say that the pool was closed, and i noticed not 1 single person went in the whole week i was there. I only wish I'd taken a pic of it to show you as a couple of days later they drained it and put biohazard tape around it (still no signs or explanation/apology anywhere for the pool being out of action). We left the hotel and spent the day at the beach instead. Later on that evening we came back to the hotel, and there was not a single light on anywhere! Perhaps they were trying to save money, but this struck me as a real health and safety hazard, as you couldn't even see the stone steps you had to walk down to get out of the hotel. For the rest of the week, when we looked across the bay for our hotel, we could tell which one was ours as it was the only hotel that appeared to be in total darkness! We tried breakfast again the next day, which was now in the cafe adjoining the hotel, hoping that the change of venue may have increased the choice of food on offer...? Unfortunately that wasn't the case and it was the same old bread and cheese/ham as before. We didn't bother with breakfast the rest of our stay and chose to pay for meals outside the restaurant instead. One day we were getting ready to go out and had some music playing from a phone, it was 18:37 and the hotel was near empty on our side (we were facing a flat roof from our balcony and there were no other guests on our side) and we had an agressive knock on the door and a burly man telling us to turn the music down!!! At 6:37pm??? Could not actually believe it, as there was music coming from all the other floors of the hotel yet ours was relatively silent? Now it was starting to become clear that the rest of the staff at the hotel shared the first man's misery and total lack of customer service and respect to their guests. We accidentally knocked a few towels and clothes off our balcony (there was no room or any drying racks provided and the balcony was extremely small so this was inevitable) and after about an hour of walking round the hotel to try and find someone to help us, we were met with a literal slammed door in our face!!! Eventually found another member of staff who went onto the flat roof and retrieved our stuff, but still made to feel like it was a massive effort for them. Later on in the week, we returned back to our room to find our smoke alarm going off (about 10:30pm) which must have been going off for ages - again we struggled to find a staff member and when we did, there was no apology/explanation, but again they made us feel like it was somehow our fault (despite there not being anyone in the room at that time???) It also makes a bit of a mockery of the 'noise complaint' we received earlier in our stay, as this alarm was 1000% louder than any phone music! That same night, my friend was insulted by the waitress who, when my friend was asked by some other guests if she would take a photo, came over and said that she would take it instead. When my friend asked her, 'ok, i guess you just want me to go then', to which the waitress responded rudely 'yes that would be perfect thank you' (!!!!)) that angered me so much that I spent the night at the hotel as after all the other run ins with the staff, it just made me feel so unwelcome and it spoilt my night. Good job i didn't go out, as my friends told me that night the owner came down like Jack Nicholson from The Shining, shouting and slavering at them, demanding their room number and telling them he was going to kick all their stuff out onto the street??? My friends were with other guests from the same hotel and other nearby hotels, so we have witnesses to this violent outburst, and none of the other guests could quite believe that we (4 single professional ladies) were being spoken to like that. After that we were in fear to stay anywhere near the hotel, and made sure we took our passports and all our money out of the room as we didn't trust the hotel to not steal/withhold them (as one of the previous guests had written on an earlier review, which I now believe was 100% possible!) we even considered moving hotels for our last night, as we didn't feel safe at all in our room! All in all, i would not have complained or written a review for the lack of pool/poor pool cleanliness, or lack of breakfast options, facilities in our room, or the fact that we were not allowed to use the lift (were told due to covid reasons it had to be disinfected for 24 hrs each time someone used it???? which never happened as it was in use daily by cleaning staff) however it honestly felt like for whatever reason, since our arrival, the hotel staff took an instant disliking to us for some reason and actually went out of their way to try and make us feel as unwelcome as possible. Quite bizarre behaviour, as I would have hoped that the Spanish would have welcomed tourists again after Covid, but this was not the case! I will admit that yes, we were 4 women, who went to Ibiza to let our hair down after 2 years of no holidays, so yes we may have been a bit drunk, loud even, on occasion, but as 4 professional women in their mid 30's, I can honestly say I have never been made to feel more uncomfortable than i have in this hotel. If the owner doesn't like people who party, then he's extremely naive and perhaps should buy a new hotel somewhere a bit quieter than Ibiza! There were no warnings, no smiles/warmth, no apologies for lack of facilities, etc it was absolute awful. Its obvious this hotel are going through hard times and are trying to save money, but at the hand of health and safety, stay here at your peril! My advice to you if you're reading this, please read all the negative reviews first with an open mind. Also read the responses given by the owner - it's clear that he doesn't accept constructive criticism and turns all the negatives back to the guests.. I really think they need a crash course in hospitality if they are wanting to stay in this business. I would give 0 stars or negative stars if I could, and wouldn't stay here again if you paid me!More
