“Excellent and interesting location”
Reviewed 2 September 2015 for a stay in July 2015

Given the price this was a great base from which to explore the area. Wonderfully friendly family and lovely location. Ever so slightly strange staying in someone's backyard but yet didn't quite feel liike you were in someone's back yard. Castledelfells is a wonderful place. Great location, modern and vibrant Spanish town - beach and Barcelona at close quarters. Fantastic restaurants at great prices - lots to love. Highly recommend the location and holiday home as long as you have a certain flexibility of attitude.

“Friendly owners, clean accommodation, wonderful pool.”

**The Family**
The owners and their family are very friendly, welcoming and accommodating. Always available to give helpful advice or information on local festivals and celebrations of which there are many. They offered invaluable advice on how and where to travel in the local area and advised on where to eat and shop. We left feeling we had made new friends.

**The Accommodation**
The holiday home is clean and modern. More than enough room for 4 people and just enough for 2 adults and 3 children.
The bathroom contains a powerful shower enclosed in a cubicle.
The living room has flat screen TV with a selection of satellite channels in several European languages. There is also a DVD player, and WIFI connection which although limited in speed is useful to get emails and Facebook / Twitter updates. There is also a small air conditioning system that when used sparingly keeps the worst of the days heat out of the room.
The kitchen area has a gas hob, combination microwave / oven, fridge freezer and plenty of space for your shopping.
We found the bedrooms had plenty of space for our clothes and other items. The beds were supplied with plentiful sheets, blankets and mattresses used protectors.
The holiday home is in no way suited to the very elderly or disabled as it uses stairs to access the property, the garden and into the pool area, although families with very young children should have no problems.

**Swimming Pool & Garden**
The swimming pool which is only 5m from the holiday home is fantastic. The pool was clean, regularly serviced and the water of good quality. An outdoor shower is provided as are a variety of loungers, chairs, picnic tables and a BBQ.
Parents of very young children should note that due to the proximity of the pool they will need to be vigilant at all times if their children are not water confident.

**Castelldefels**
Castelldefels is a large resort, it has two distinct areas, the beach front with it's shops, restaurants and excellent beach and then the town centre with its church, town square, castle and ramblas cafe's, artisan bakeries and deli's.
Castelldefels also has an excellent out of town shopping centre called AnecBlau, with lots of high street shops, multiplex cinema, large supermarket and fast food outlets.
Our family like walking and so managed to get around Castelldefels on foot and by using taxi's when tired. You may need to consider hiring a car if you can't walk far or want a more relaxing holiday.

**Transport**
Castellfidels has a train station in the town and one near the beach. Both are in zone1 for the Barcelona Metro system. Buy a T10 ticket for just over 10 Euro from the station and you can travel very very cheaply all around Barcelona and surrounding areas.
Near the train station in the town centre is a taxi rank which we found useful. Taxi cost from town back to the holiday home was 5 Euro. The taxi fare back from the beach was 8 Euro. A taxi from Barcelona Terminal 2 to the holiday home was 30Euro but could be as much as 40Euro depending on the time of day and how busy traffic is.

We found using taxi's and public transport much cheaper than hiring a car, we spent 220 Euro on transport for the 10 days we were on holiday, a car rental would have been approximately 450 Euro including insurances, fuel and parking charges in town.
The walk downhill from the holiday home to the town square only takes about 15 minutes and helps to build up your appetite but you will have to make your own decision on how you wish to get about town.
There is an infrequent bus service from near the holiday home to town, but if there is more than two of you the taxi is much better value.
From the UK you can find cheap flights into Barcelona from both Ryanair and Jet2 and other budget airlines.

We loved this place in the sun, so much so we want to return again. Hopefully you will feel the same.

“Wonderful place !”
Reviewed 20 March 2014 for a stay in March 2014

We got a warm welcome from this family. It's clean and comfortable place.
Calm area and beautiful view. It's very practical to have a walk in the mountain.
It's preferable to have a car to go to the beach as public transportation is not so efficient.
The beach is very wide and clean where you can practice a lot of activites.
The downtown is a nice place to have meal and drink.
We plan to come back as they will have a brand new swimming pool.
