We did a pre booking, As my wife arrive in the evening and i know this hotel has no service i went in the morning to the hotel to do the check in, what takes also 45 minutes
The problem in this hotel is the check in staff is also the operator, when people want to check in , you say hello i want to check they will not say anything as they have a head set and they are talking to other people who are on the phone, in my check in i have to listen to 4 phone calls , from people till you blood start to boil. i told them next time i do telephone check in, due they are talking on the phone with other people that's why there is no focus, they made a mistake with my check in, when i came back at night at 23:00hr i have to wait for one hour as they phone girl who checked me in give me the wrong room ( a lower category as i booked ) and that room i booked luckily i had copy of my booking, when i show the person on night duty my booking. He said this morning they made a mistake and this night duty person was so slow he said he had to do everything again. after exact one hour i had the key. than when we came to the room the key did not work have to go down again, i complained about the bad service of the hotel, he apologize he said the morning staff made a mistake, i told him do you know why , they are to busy talking on the phone to others than focusing on the check in job, they worse is the check out time , the same girls talk on the phone and let you wait and even there are many people to check out, when you are in the hurry you are listing to all these phone calls, this the ONLY hotel where i see check-in and operator and handling house phone calls all in one on the reception desk. i guess this is saving staff cost but this is bad. be advised !!!
note also when you need room slipper you pay extra , you need bath rope you need to pay extra
Than the second thing is the house keeping this is one of the worse housekeeping i even have seen and we travel a lot. believe it or not i was ones in the room when they do the room, i had a shock and complained on the reception the same phone talking girls , when i complained , the girl answered i dont think so , i ask here so you dont believe , than she said no they are not so bad. i told here placing pillows and bed sheets and duvee's on the dirty floor is oke,and later you sleep on to it, than place it back place towels outside the door on the carpet floor is oke and later you have to dry yourself with it, i told what kind of hygiene standaard you have here, as hardly any body speak Dutch, i guess you have outsource company who does housekeeping she said yes than i said no wonder.
Than in the evening we came back they forgot to make up the room, there where no amenities, we called down around 22:45 and ask for amenities and towels, the night duty said, house keeping works only till 15:00hr. come down and get it from the reception i said nobody to bring as i am ready for shower, he said no i am always alone you have to come down. as i can leave the reception, i dressed my self go down to the reception and to my surprise there was nobody, i was waiting there for more than 20 minutes nobody there one more guest had a similar problem. finally one guy came than he said " ah you are the guy from the shampoo." let me see and he walked away again 15 minutes later he came and said i don't have amenities i cant find, and towels , than i told him about the terrible service he said the best you complain tomorrow. really bad
next morning when we want to go for breakfast we found two towels on the dirty carpet floor outside the room as said no sense of cleanest in this hotel.
same in the Restaurant we tried one time in the evening never again , as there is no sufficient staff you have to wait for so long. as said the hotel is nice but no service its a do it yourself hotel that's for sure. we ask one of our local friends to come for dinner in the hotel restaurant first they say please lets go to other restaurant as this restaurant service is very bad, so we went to Zevenaar for dinner.
In a summery its nice hotel, but a management trainer is highly needed here.
