We booked this, not inexpensive, hotel because it is situated very quiet and peaceful in the woods outside the city. However our room (12) was above the kitchen and washing-up room, which had a high noise level. We complained about the noise and got the answer that the restaurant closed at nine o’clock and the noise should be gone at eleven. Although the work was done at eleven o’clock, we still had a fan noise from some sort of a ventilator/genarator and the staff said they could do nothing about it. So despite driving to the woods, the night was very noisy. And it always seemed we got the last room, when we were not satisfied, so we could not get another room. The room was very small. The bathroom was beautiful but small. Breakfast was fantastic.

To celebrate my 75th birthday we booked 2 rooms (3 persons) on 9/10 October (16 and 17) and had dinner in restaurant "Hoogheid''.
Smal dated rooms and in nr 17 ventilation in the bathroom did not work, rusty radiator and mould on the wall. Beds fine.
The dinner, mented to be the topic, was a desaster.
Very limited menu with 3 main dishes namely beef, lamb and fisch.
We ordered beef and lamb, but they were both not available. Only fish, wich we did not prefer. After long pressure we were offerd veal. Having no other choice we ordered veal, which was tough. Furthermore portions were very small (Nouvelle cuisine) which is out of fashion Total price € 220,= (incl. 2 glasses of wine and 2 port and a gin and tonic) Over the top. The worst was that the next day came out that the Bar Bistro restaurant in the same building with the same kitchen had a wide menu of dishes, but nobody advised us to sit there or to offer us beef or pork from that menu. A terrible misser. We will never go there again. Reception is very friendly by the way and breakfast ok.
