Nice stay, great location

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 7 Sept 2019via mobile
The area is beautiful, driving into the woods.. therefore the hotel’s location is super, centrally home based spot for all attractions around. At reception a was a bit disappointed that no help was offered nor available with our heavy luggage, while room was located quiet far, and not much information given about hotel facilities , so we have found out that we have missed feeding time of the deer, no one has told us about at first. Room was large, ground floor windows to the parking lot. Personally i less admire the concrete modern design, but this is of course just a matter of one’s taste. Pool , though small, still refreshing after a long day out, and breakfast was nice.

Dear Anatzil,

Thank you for taking the time to write a review about your stay at the Echoput. We are happy to read that you enjoyed your stay. The animals in the forrest "Het Kroondomein" do not get fed bij anyone, they look for there own food. They harvest berrys and leafs themselve. In other parts of the Netherlands sometimes the game get fed by forrest keepers, but in the forrest surrounding the hotel there is no additional food being provided for the animals. So in short, there is no specific feeding time.

kind regards,

Thijs Bouterse

After running after all the attractions in Nederland we decided to finish the trip in this hotel and it was great decision!!!
It is hotel in the woods and has great restaurant for dinner with perfect waiter MARTIN -he was the reason why we came to the restaurant night by night . He gives you such a great explanation on the food and the wines that while eating the food or drinking the wine you imagine his lyrical explanations that double the experience

Another great adventure was renting bicycle through the woods

Also try the swimming pool.

Tip - order regular room there is no difference from suite to regular room.

Very, very nice people. Friendly and helpfull. Even brought a new bike when our rented bike had a flat tire. Hotel rooms are beautiful and spacious. The restaurant is excellent as well, though a bit conservative French cuisine. Good wine selection. Highly recommended. Will visit again.

Spacious and clean room with bath and shower, comfortable bed. Good breakfast, well trained staff in the restaurant.
In the middle of a beautiful Region. Nice wellness area with a swimming pool (warm room so also suitable for small kids) and a little sauna.

Nice five starr hotel with very friendly service, fantastic breakfast, small swimming pool inside and adequate fitness room. The rooms were very big with big terrace, very good bed,big bathroom with great shower. The dinner in the restaurant was very good but we were not blown away by innovation. It was rather classic and not very big portions. The service was good but we had to take care of filling our own glass. In the room we didn't have the possibility to make a cup of coffee or tea in the afternoon which you normally would expect in a five starr hotel. Also the reading lights were not adequate and we had only one small bottle of shampoo for 3 nights.Anyway this is a very good hotel with friendly service where I would love to come back but I hope they listen to my comments to become even better.

The Echoput is located at a historic spot in the middle of the Kings Domain Forest. It however doesn't echo anything historic other than royal. It offers various places to relax, whether it be the terraces, the bar or the swimming pool. An all-weather luxury experience. And did I mention the food?
The main attraction is indeed the kitchen. Sumptuous breakfast buffet with al kind of healthy food choices. Several warm options as well of nuts, seeds, wide tea arrangements, etc. And of course the restaurant is a gem. It lost its Michelin star a while ago (and it has limited service during the day), but the chef still knows how to combine surprising different tastes into small though delightful dishes. Excellent wines to go with it and impeccable service (a bit stiff, but okay).
The hotel presents a very modern and open impression when entering. Friendly reception staff and you receive good explanation on how things function. The comfort room was modern and spacious. Table with chairs, large bed and sufficient luggage storage. A long corridor on the side that contains a shower, a bath, a double wash basin and a toilet; all separate locations. And a large balcony where you have view into the trees that surround the hotel everywhere.
Okay, one can have indeed some remarks or see opportunities for improvements – at least we did. The Echoput advertises as one of the few Dutch five star hotels which might be disputed as you look to some of the ground keeping (small things though) in the rooms, the gym or the sauna. Several small things being misfunctioning or broken. Also the light plan in the rooms can be improved as the control of the aircon. But there is a lot to balance your experience to the good side. Plenty of bikes for hire, a large parking lot, a wine tasting area, free wireless, cooking classes and more.
In fact, we certainly loved our stay here and we took the opportunity to cycle and walk in the environment as well as relax in the sauna or enjoy the terrace. The Echoput is a relatively top price hotel but with some little bit more attention to the small repairs to be made, it could be the top environment for any type of stay in any season.

Room tip: Quiter rooms are at the back (even numbered)
